Intro to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
Exchange: To give in return for something received
Microsoft Exchange Server is an email based collaborative software solution. Designed for
exchanging information within a company and saving it server-side (e.g. Outlook, OWA,
IMAP, PDA).

The Required Specs Slide
Exchange 2003 comes in 2 version levels, Standard (S) and Enterprise (E). E has all the features of S, but many limits are eliminated and clustering requires E. E is designed for larger installations.
Exchange Requirements: P133, Win 2000 Srv, 256MB, 500MB on Exchange install partition, 200MB on System partition (these are unacceptable requirements, and I would NEVER run Exchange on this.)

The Exchange Servers I Buy
If a company is going to run Exchange, here are the minimums I would recommend on a server:
Pentium 4 1GB of RAM RAID 1 or 5 (2 or 3 HDs at min) 50GB of storage Antivirus is a requirement (current
favorite is TrendMicro)

Microsoft made it a lot easier for Exchange 2003 installs since the installation is a step by step process.
