Innovative START-UP born in December 2014 Spin-off of the University of Pavia (Italy) at the Science Park

The idea arises from a very long research work (about 20 years) about aerogels that was applied on a problem: Rice Husk Ashes

The know how allowed us to recover the silica in the food processing residues as RHA or others, for producing SILICA AEROGELS

The idea succeeded and a new synthetic process and inorganic aerogel was patented !

WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE DO

The term aerogel is composed of “air” and “gel” In our case the silica gel is 3% and the air is 97% due to its huge nanoporosity, therefore aerogel is a kind of NANOMATERIAL

WHAT IS AEROGEL MATERIAL?

Aerogel is an ultra light, highly porous materials, sometimes called “Solid Smoke” in its transparent variant

Until 2012, SiO2 aerogel held 15 entries in Guinness World Records for material properties, including best thermal insulator and lowest-density solid. Only the latter title was recently lost by a lighter materials: aerographite/aerographene
