The What and the How.

• Create and Deliver 5 minutepresentations.

• The catch: 20 slides, and each slidewill be on screen for exactly 15seconds.




Purpose

An exercise in delivering a concise,snappy, interesting, audience-driven, on

time message, working in harmony witslides.




Step 1: Pick a Topic

• Something you know

• Something interesting/cool/different• Something you are passionate about.




Like?

• A hobby.

• An ability or disability.

• Somewhere you’vebeen.

• Somewhere you’re from.

• A concept or idea.Science?

• An event.

• Your job.

• Current events, politicthe environment, etc.




Step 2: Think about ‘mood’

• Funny

• Persuasive

• Informative

• Intriguing

• Uplifting

• Different

• Rigorous

• Empowering

• Challenging

• Confrontational

• Witty

• Etc.


How will you frame your presentation? There are a number of ways to do it, and it’s up to you. However,....




It should be driven by your audience: how much do they know about this topic? Is it professional or casual? For thipretend we are a kind of audience of your choosing, and design your presentation to that.



Step 3: Outline

• Make 20 bullets on paper.

• Sketch ideas in.• Some ideas will take > 1 slide.
