Leveraging Examples in E-learning
Take pictures the Set-Up for various projects and use pictures as a review for a quiz, or a quiz
itself.Field trips: Have students write
captions for the pictures and post them on the web as a virtual field
trip.
How to take pictures with a digital camera
Find the "on" button on top of the camera and press it. Wait for it to turn on and load.
Adjust settings if necessary (refer to users manual).
Look into LCD screen on back of camera to aim the camera at whatever your target is. Zoom in or out if necessary.
Find the photo button (always on top right of the camera).
Once target is in the screen how you want it, hold the camera still, press and hold in the button until the camera flashes.
View your picture by using the playback button on the
back of the camera.
Insert your memory card or attach your USB cord to your computer and upload your pictures onto your computer to print or save.
In fading, provide a fully worked example similar to the demonstrations given. Follow the initial example with a second example, in which most of the steps are worked out and the learner completes the final steps. As examples progress, the learner gradually completes more of the steps. At the end the learner takes the pictures entirely on his own and upload on the computer.
Leverage principles:
Encourage self-explanations using techniques or strategies to take pictures. Students learn to use the camera on their own practicing new skills to get the best images from different angles.
