Maximum Impact Foundation (MIF)

MIF has been a 501-c-3 nonprofit since 2003

MIF is structured as a pure nonprofit

- All officers, Board of Directors, and volunteers contribute their services free of charge

- Offices, accounting and consulting services are all donated

- All MIF tax returns are available upon request

MIF acts as a conduit for donors and identifies areas of human suffering where resources can be used most efficiently for a lasting solution

Accountability and common sense are important factors when evaluating the potential outreach needing assistance from MIF

The Water Problem

1. 80% of illnesses in developing countries are linked to infectious waterborne diseases

2. Over 300 million people in Africa do not have access to clean water

3. Every year, 1.5 million children die from diarrhea globally

4. Every 20 seconds a child dies from a water related disease

5. In developing countries, women and girls walk on average 6 kilometers a day carrying 20 liters of water

6. For every $1 invested in water and sanitation, on average, $8 is returned in increased productivity

Water Wells in Uganda:A Lasting Solution

Villages are identified with the greatest water needs based on:

-distance to drinkable water

-quality of water

-number of people affected

Once a village is identified, a suitable plot of land must be donated to the water well project

A hydrological water survey is completed to ensure water is underground and within a depth of 300 feet. Most wells are 175-300 feet

The drilling company, by contract, agrees if the first well is not successful, a 2nd water survey and well will be drilled free of charge

During 2010 and 2011, 60 out of 60 successful wells were completed.

After gathering all the required information for a water well site and funding for the well is secured, local officials and the water team form a Community Water Committee .The Committee establishes rules and

The process…

After the well is completed, the village has a well dedication ceremony. Local officials, villagers, and other important leaders attend this exciting ceremony that will change the quality of life for the community. The well is blessed and dedicated to the God of Bible. The well is officially turned over to the community and they accept responsibility.

Current cost of a completed well is approximately $10,000 for a 250 foot well

Often there is a special plaque attached to the well with the names of the donor or a bible verse

MIF targets villages of more than 5,000 people
