WHAT IS A PRESENTATION?

• For a presntation to reach its objective, three things must happen:– The speaker must have a clear aim– The material must be organnised in

such a way that the aim is supported– The pressentation should be engaging

for both speaker and audience.

IN DELIVERY, THIS TRANSLATES AS:

• Tell the audience what you are going to tell them• The Introduction

• Tell them • The Main Body of the Presentation

• Tell them what you have just told them • The Conclusion

PRESENTATIONS DO’S• Smile!• Move about the stage• Test your setup before

the presentation• Present to the crowd• Dont try to impress

with jargon• Use a computer and

multimedia projector

• Be yourself! • Plae your company logo in

the bottom/top right-hand corner of your slides

• Use lite colours on a dark bacground and vice-versa.

• Proof read your presentation for spelling and grammar errors

PRESENTATION Don’ts • Forgetting to turn off your

screen saver• Beeping laptop• Speaking too quickly• Using too many bullets

and fonts• Unexpected animation• Speaking word for word

from you slides – speak around your slides.

• Overusing animation• Forgetting to delete all

guidelines• Using a font thats to

small• Placing to many words

on a slide• Using red lettering on

your slides

CONCLUSION

• Prepare• Don’t overdo it on the animation

and the graphics• Pracice! Practice! Practice!• But most of all - Be yourself!
