LEGISLATIVE FRAMEWORK
The Council was established in terms of
section 37(2) of the Labour Relations Act
The Council shall operate and be guided by:The Promotion of Administrative Justice Act; and
The Public Finance Management Act

FUNDING OF THE ELRC
There are approximately 350 000 educators –
within the scope of the ELRC.
The ELRC is funded through LEVIES paid by
educators & equal contributions made by the
Departments of Education.
