IMPLICATIONS of insights

HIGH AWARENESS

“PAT ON THE BACK” APPROACH

EXCHANGE OF TIPS/TRICKS

SHARING OF STORIES

Bridge the gap between awareness and action

Encourage TA to do more than what they are already doing

between TA-TA, PUB-TA and TA-PUB

Closest thing to the simulation of limited water supply is to hear stories and personal experiences from the ‘horses mouth’

Even we as a company took a lot of struggling before we could even think of surviving.

Mr Ter Wah Foo CEO, Nestlé

Mr Ter Wah Foo still remembers the pain of growing up in early Singapore. Water, he says, was a luxury.

It wasn't easy having no easy access to enough clean water.

Today, he still hasn't forgotten those years. As the CEO of Nestlé, he has implemented measures and initiatives to drive home the water conservation message among his staff.

Today, he remains grateful for the water he has access to daily.

The Singapore of yesterday still evokes a sense of tragedy and sadness for 92-year-old MDM Neo Wah Ter. Having lived through the Japanese Occupation period, she remembers when this tiny island had no clean supply of freshwater for drinking, bathing and cooking.

We had to bathe in rivers and by the side of the street drains. It was the most difficult period of my life.

Today, a long way from those tumultuous years, Mdm Neo can't help but feel thankful.

I turn on the tap and I get clean fresh water. That to me is more than enough to be grateful for.

Every effort counts. When every stakeholder creates a ripple, the collective effort can create a wave. The stories collected by partners will be collated to break the existing record of the largest collage of stories done by Epson in 2003. The attempt will be the new record for Singapore’s largest collage of stories in a form of Water Droplet Mural at Marina Barrage during WWD 2014. STUDENTS

Singapore Polytechnic

Feature student projects from the School of Chemical & Life Sciences on the latest developments of water conservation technology.

GRASSROOTSCDC & CC

Feature interesting suggestions on how citizens of Singapore can conserve water in their daily activities.

Clariant introduced its One Way Score Card to promote water and energy conservation in textile manufacturing in March 2013. The use of its technology can save up to 92% of water and 45% in energy consumption. Innovative technology such as Clariant’s One Way Score Card can be displayed during WWD 2014 to show the waves of tomorrow in water conservation.

SCORE’s recycling plant has helped its laundry slash the use of water by more than 50%. Its Steam Condensate project helped to halve the 36,000 cubic metres of water that they use every year to wash and dry linen. Its technology can be displayed during WWD 2014 to show the waves of tomorrow in creating sustainability for water conservation.

SWA aspires to profile and promote Singapore as a one-stop centre for all water-related services and water technology hub. It brings local companies for the mutual benefit of developing a vibrant and dynamic local water industry. SWA can showcase some of the new development and technology by its strategic partners during WWD 2014. It is in line with its vision.
