AIM

To provide drinking water facilities in 60 problematic villages and 21 other habitation. Take water from river chambal and sent to INTAKE at Akelgarh. To provide 1.5 MGD @ 22 hours with 4 nos filter beds size each 4.20mX3.05m.

This project is divided into two phase, first is CWPH that provide water to four ESR & second is for 16 ESR. This project is fully automated where all Mechanical,Electrical & Instrumentation equipment are controlled through plc. In control room that located at pratapgargh all process are shown on SCADA. All data/information of equipments are send via GSM/GPRS.

Why do we need automation WTP/STP/ETP need a specific time base logic that can

never achieved with accuracy by manual operation. In order to achieve consistent quality of water in

every cycle, parameter of water quality-PH, DO, BOD, chemical oxygen demand need to be maintain.

Operating cost of plant reduces with automation as few/single operator can command fully automatic plants.

Using remote monitoring & control feature we can plant shutdown or at least reduces diagnostic time.

PROCEES AUTOMATION

PLC The PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is a purpose-built

machine control computer designed to read digital and analog inputs from various sensors.

Why do we need PLC We have to designed STP/WTP/ETP controller with all

required facilities and then need to install and start only. In electrical control panel auto-manual switches & its

associated wiring can be minimized as we have auto-manual mode in our controller in built-saves cost and space.

In manual & auto mode in our controller each tank level/pressure/flow/pump status etc can be monitored on LCD screen.

Very low cost solution through PLC based system.

Page 6: Presentation on water treatment plant

SCADA SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) is

a system operating with coded signals over communication channels so as to provide control of remote equipment.

Why do we need SCADA In control room single engineer can see status of valves,

pumps, flow-meter etc. & operate manually also. The data can be display in anyway the user requires. The computer can record and stored a very large amount

of data.

EPANET SOFTWARE The design of cluster distribution mains has been done

based using EPANET software.  It performs extended-period simulation of hydraulic and

water-quality behavior within pressurized pipe networks. EPANET provides an integrated environment for editing

network input data, running hydraulic and water quality simulations, and viewing the results in a variety of formats.

It allow users to analyze the movement of a reactive or non-reactive tracer material which spreads through the network over time.

INTAKE It is proposed at Akelgarh where two (1w&1s) Submersible /

Vertical turbine pumps is taken. These Pumps will feed water from intake well to Sedimentation

Tank. The Borabas- Mandana Water Supply Project from Chambal River

comprises:- physical components Institutional components The physical components include water supply infrastructure

(intake pumping station, raw water system, treatment, storage and distribution facilities)

The institutional components include the administration arrangements, community participation, training programs and health educational programs.

SEDIMENTATION TANK

There is 5-6 no of sedimentation tank whose capacity is 1.5 MGD water as requirement.

Here Alum/pac solution tank has been taken for dosing purpose.

WTP The existing Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is of cap 1.5 MGD

@ 22 hours with 4 nos filter beds size each 4.20mX3.05m. At WTP one new PLC room is proposed for controlling all

valves and other digital equipment. Here two (1w & 1s) clariflocculator has been proposed just

before filter house for proper mixing of water. In filter house four sand filter bed is available to make water

pure. Then pure/clear water get dosed with alum/pac solution. It has backwash tank with 4 nos (2w & 2s)of blower that

blow water to filter bed for clear suspended solid present in sand filter bed.

CWR There is an existing CWR at Akelgarh which is not in use

by Kota Water Supply Scheme. It is proposed to use this CWR.

Storage capacities of clear reservoir are based on 2 hours storage capacity of daily demand.

Here 3 nos of CWR are proposed, one at Treatment Plant Head Works, Akelgarh & other two at Ranpur & Mandana respectively.

Provision for sump in CWR has been taken with 2 nos (1W+1S) dewatering pumps for cleaning.

Water from this pump house shall be pumped to Cluster ESRs.
