AbstractAbstract
• Development and Management of existing biodiversity Forest resources using Information and communication technologies
• Need of accessing heterogeneous information from disparate datasets for establishment of centralized knowledge base
• Geospatial Fusion technology, the platform for web based enterprise level spatial decision support system for forest management
Key words : Geo-spatial Fusion, Enterprise, SDSS, forest-wildlife management, spatial knowledge base
IntroductionIntroduction
• Forests are the second largest land-use in India after agriculture covering an area of 67.71 m ha constituting about 20.60% of the total geographical area (FSI, 2008).
• An estimated 275 million people in rural areas depend on forests for at least part of their livelihoods (World Bank, 2005).
• Most part of forest are not just degraded but also fragmented
