And what do we have here?
How can I find what I need?
Do I have easy access to keyboard?
Sometimes we come upon an unwritten ‘rule’ that the cleaner the desk, the less
the desk owner does. So ?????
5S - WORKPLACE ORGANIZATION
Danger? Distribution?
Can you focus on your work in
such chaos?
5S - WORKPLACE ORGANIZATION
If you are not sure whether you need 5S rules to improve the organization of your surrounding workplace, do this simple test: open a document cabinet and answer the two questions looking at the nearest pile of papers.
If you did not know the answer to at least one of the questions, you certainly need 5S rules to organize your work in a better way
And question 2 : what does the document at the bottom of the
pile refer to?

One of the primary causes of these types
of waste is the absence of 5S rules
5S - WORKPLACE ORGANIZATION
Overproduction
How many products should there be and
where should they be stored?
5S - WORKPLACE ORGANIZATION
If transport over considerable distances is required, problems
with locating the goods occur.
Transport
5S - WORKPLACE ORGANIZATION
Transport
At work employees often cover kilometers, because certain tools
or materials are located rather far from their
workplaces
5S - WORKPLACE ORGANIZATION
Movement and waiting time 95% of the time
• 70 % - „placing in a queue” • 20 % - „waiting” • 5 % - moving to another process
In the process 5 % of the time is
• processing • loading/unloading • changeover between operations • changing the next item in a batch
5S - WORKPLACE ORGANIZATION
If employees in their workplaces: • often have to bend over to reach for a specific material • have to lift excessively heavy items • strain their eyes to notice certain items • lack an organized workstation facilitating access to everything they need • maintain a mess by inadequate identification or location of parts and materials
then:
After sometime they start producing faulty or defective parts
Become exhausted quicker
Are not committed to the company
