Taking the 17th hundred windmill technology in to your future
THE COMPANY General company descriptionInnowind is a technology driven company who has taken the design of wind turbine itself to a total different level, still based on well known technology. Innowind has taken the challenge within offshore and onshore based wind farms. Our concept is to deliver smaller and more efficient wind turbines that will create new opportunities for the users of wind power.
Marked segments
Innowind’s market segments are the planned onshore and offshore wind farms and their suppliers globally.
The windmill industry is a fast growing industry. Based on worldwide commitments from governments to move to renewable energy sources, we foresee a rapid and strong further growth in the market over the next 15-20 years.
Innowind will position itself to support this growth by delivering smart design to reduce size, lower installation cost, and easy maintenance of the onshore and offshore windmill parks.
We also strongly believe that our wind turbine will reduce the HSE risk by being smaller, easier accessible and demanding less maintenance.
Innowind wind turbines 5 alternative markets
• Floating offshore units for water depths +60 meter
• Fixed installed units for water depths less than 60 meter
• Onshore units for up to 5 MW
• Small units between 100kW – 1MW
• Maritime unit between 100kW – 1MW
Business opportunities:
Today rotor blades are 22,2% of the total cost of a unit including tower, blades, gear, generator etc.
In 2008 more than 27 000 MW was installed
A typical onshore unite have an average cost of 2 mill USD per MW
This gives a total revenue of almost 12 billion USD
Our unique wind turbine
Concept description:
The wind turbine is designed to take advantage of both vertical and horizontal kinetically energy
Our preliminary design show that we can reduce the size of the wind turbine by at least 2/3rd of existing dimension without reducing produced energy.
The aerodynamic shape and air flow allow the wind turbines to be placed closer.
This will significantly reduce the area needed for a windfarm.
For offshore applications it will be possible to install 3 units or more on one installation.
Present stage of the innovation:
Wind turbine is patent pending
Proof of concept wind turbine has been manufactured and tested
Computerised optimised modelling is carried out
Plan for full scale testing is ongoing, targeting testing within the next 6-12 months (July 1st 2010)
