their own profiles. This allows users the feeling of community among people.

• These social sites allow individuals the opportunity to create relationships with normally have. You can be connected to other users by way of your interests.

• Pictures can be uploaded onto the profile page.

friends. Video chatting is available at some sites.

Mostly students uses social networking websites like Ning and Moodle to communicate with their peers and collaborate on projects. Also the teachers use Wikis to update their students on daily activities and assignments.

People always like sharing their activities with their friends, family and others. Personally I use Youtube to share the videos and music with my family and friends.

By utilizing social networking tools that we are familiar with, we creating an interesting and enjoyable learning environment.

Unlike other marketing tools - with social media you give the control of the message over to the consumers. They dictate how the message is received and spread over these media. With the ability to cross post on different social networks the message can become viral very quickly (assuming the content is great!).

• Social media enables business to influence the perception (for example pre-launch startup) by getting your message out to the consumers. Ideally you want to combine your blog (with industry/thought leading topics) and use social media to spread the word about your blog.

• It is quite easy to see what your competition is doing on SMM as well as listen to the feedback the customers are providing to your competition. Knowing the problems the competitor is having can enable you to take advantage of that.
