CS-544 Data Mining and WarehousingPresentation for Assessment
Aims & Objectives
Aim of Course: The data warehousing part of the course aims to give students a good overview of the ideas and the techniques in the data warehousing and On Line Analytical Processing (OLAP). The data mining part of the course unit aims to study different data mining techniques and tools. To identify and develop useful algorithms to discover useful knowledge out of tremendous data volumes. Also to determine in what application areas can data mining be applied.
Course Name: Data Mining and Warehousing
Course Code: CS-544

AssessmentComments on course contents, design, scope of course, adequacy etc., Course content is very good for the students of V Semester. Students are
given enough exposure about the data warehouse environment as well as data mining techniques.
Students get exposure to the new trends and technologies in data mining and warehousing which are very much used in industry now a days. The course helps them to make use of data mining query language, OLAP and data mining technologies.
Case studies are allotted to all the students and seminars are conducted. Problems faced in Teaching-Learning Lack of motivation amongst the students as many students are placed in
companies while others were busy in the placement activities. Some prerequisites were to be covered again. All students did not properly do their laboratory practical.
My Suggestions for Course Changes & Improvement in Teaching-Learning Process1. Well equipped laboratory with centralized
database servers and application servers is required so that students can properly do their lab work.
2. The course was designed and introduced recently. It includes the exposure to latest technologies. So, the faculty must be sent to industry for practical exposure and training.
3. Allotment of projects at least two months before the examination.
CS-422 Data Structures using C++Presentation for Assessment
Aims & Objectives
Aim of Course: To clear the concept and applications of different data structures and the operations performed on them. Identify useful high -level data types, operations and to determine what class of problems can be solved using them. To present a number of essential data structures and related algorithms used in computer science.
Course Name: Data Structures using C++

AssessmentComments on course contents, design, scope of course, adequacy etc., Course is very well designed. The data structure part is covered in detail.
But C++ part is just introductory. In the lectures, students are introduced to data structures and in the
assignments they write code to implement and use these data structures. Students design algorithms to perform simple tasks using data structures such as arrays, stacks, queues, linked lists, trees, and hash tables.
Problems faced in Teaching-Learning C++ should be prerequisite. Students are unable to cover C++ in just one
or two weeks as per the course design. Introduction to C++ can be given in I semester along with C syllabus. The students tend to copy the project and lab work done by their seniors. Course contents are much detailed so very difficult to cover in even
semester.
My Suggestions for Course Changes & Improvement in Teaching-Learning Process Object oriented programming and C++
introduction to be covered in I Semester. Proper Lab assistance required. Allotment of projects at least two months before
the examination.
CS-552 Operating SystemsPresentation for Assessment
Aims & Objectives
Aim of Course: To make the students familiar with design of operating systems as resource manager of a computer system. Also to make them understand all operating system functions. To give the students exposure to Windows and Linux working environments.
Course Name: Operating Systems
Course Code: CS-552
Instructor Name: Dr.Priyesh Kanungo, Mr. Deepak Abhyankar, Ms. Shraddha Masih

AssessmentComments on course contents, design, scope of course,
adequacy etc., Course is very well designed. It is adequate.
Students will study in details, various modules of the operating system like processor management, memory management, device management, file management and process management.
Projects are assigned in the beginning of the semester.
The assignments help the students to understand working of operating system algorithms.
After completing this course, the students will be acquainted with internal working of Windows and Linux OS.
Problems faced in Teaching-Learning Problem specially in MBA(CM) as the students keep
on changing after every counseling. As many students study the programming language in
First semester, it becomes difficult for them to implement algorithms which uses specialized data structures.
My Suggestions for Course Changes & Improvement in Teaching-Learning Process1. Well equipped operating system lab for practical
exposure. If possible its better to keep this subject in 2nd
semester.
Thank You……….!
