BACKGROUND
Pranayam is the foundation ofreducing performance anxiety andimproving concentration.
Yog-Pranayam will help you develop ahabit of breathing correctly.
Yog-Pranayam poses are all aboutbuilding core strength. The slow,
focused movements require a strongmid-section and the isometriccontractions of many exercises will adda new form of resistance training toyour typical machine-based workouts.

OBJECTIVES
Yog and Pranayam is one such measure thatshould be most important aid among recreational
and competitive athletes to improve theis stamina
and performacne.
Purpose of this trial is to evaluate the effects of
yog-pranayama on the stamina and performanceof a Junior Mohun Bagan Team along with
physiological, pathological and neurological
improvements.

STUDY DESIGN/METHODSPrimary and secondary endpoints
To determine the efficacy of Yog Pranayam in thedevelopment of skill, stamina and performance ofathletes( Footballers).
The major endpoints ware taken :
1. Improvement in the complete blood picture,Hb%,
Liver Function tests,Kidney Function Tests, LipidProfile.
2. Improvement in Pulse rate, Blood Pressure, Weight,BMI, Fat %, FVC, FEV1.
3. Any unwanted events or happenings

Yoga Training / treatment
All subjects undergo rigorous Yog-Pranayam training
at morning 5.30 to 6.30 and evening 6.30 to 7.30with balanced diet reintroduced by Parampujya SwamiRamdev Ji Maharaj and Acharya Balkrishan Ji Maharajfor 7 days from 7 july 06 to 13 july 06 with follow-up
for next one month . Scientific techniques of Bhrastrika,Kapalbhati, Bahya, Anulom-Vilom, Bhramri, Udgith
and Ujjai will be practiced by all participants along withpractice various Yogasanas by well qualified
technical team.No other medication will be permitted beside any
serious condition.All subjects compliance to treatmentware clearly monitored by trainers.

Tools used for the Physical and Pathological
investigations were BP Instrument,Weight & Fat analyzer,PFT(Pulmonary Function Test Apparatus),TMT(Tread Mil Test Walker), Centrifuge,
Automated Hematology Analyzer, Manual HematologyAnalyzer, Blood Gas Analyzer,Semi Auto Biochemistry AnalyzerandXL-600 fully automated Biochemistry Analyzer.
All subjects undergo pre and post physiological andpathological investigations at Patanjali Yogpeeth OPD,Pathology Lab and Diagnostic center. Blood samplesware drawn from an antecubital vein at the beginning
