Master of Tourism/Hotel

• General French/ Exam Preparation • Students are tested on arrival, and put into a class appropriate for

their level. Depending on the student’s level and the length of their course, students may opt to take a CFTH exam. On arrival, a study program is discussed with students to ensure that exam preparation and an internship placement is not undertaken in the same term.

• MSHT SPINs• The course syllabus is based on a needs analysis of jobs in the

hotel and tourism. Examples of MFHT SPIN: Job types and recruitment, designing package tours, tourism and the internet, crisis resolution, facing complaints, negotiation, marketing and promotion.

Master of Tourism/Hotel• Papers and projects• All AY students, include MFHT students in Nice, are required to write three papers per

semester, read and write a report on a book and present a lecture on students’ project. • The MFHT course includes project work done in groups or individually.• Examples of these are:• -Design a tour in French Riviera for 3 days for students of EF• - Design a flyer to promote the French Riviera (products, culture, sightseeing, etc.).• - Design a promotional flyer for hotel services and customer loyalty.• -Make a presentation of tourism in the student home country • CFHT Certificat de Français du Tourisme et de l’Hôtellerie Exam Preparation• During their course students can participate in classes to prepare for the CFTH exam.• This exam certifies a functional competence in French in the field of Tourism, Hostelry and

Catering. It certifies that the candidate is able to use, with efficiency, his French in a real situation, both in oral and written. It evaluates the linguistic competences in keeping with professional know-how. .Internationally recognized, this exam allows the candidates to valid their linguistic knowledge in a professional view and the firms specialized in Tourism and Hostelry to recruit staff able to work in French environment.

• Internship• The MFHT internship placement usually takes place in the student’s third term. They will

take classes of preparation for their internship which includes, CV writing and interview techniques. Students from EF Nice will be placed with the following companies for internships:

INTERNATIONAL EXAMS• High percentage of candidates who obtain the DELF (very intensive course

preparation at school: minimum preparation: 3 months) for students from intermediate to advance level, the cost : from 100 to 150 euros, the exam center is in Cannes.

• Lots of students who prepare the DALF to enter French Universities: for advance students, the cost : from 100 to 150 euros, the exam center is in Nice.

• New exam preparation : Master of French in Hotel and Toursim (with internships in local firms), for intermediate and advance levels. The cost is 100 euros and the exam center is in Cannes.

• All these diplomas are recognized by corporations, chambers of commerce and educational institutions around the world
