In this article we want to prove that inhibition of telomerase that is reactivated when the telomeres become too short, the scientists plan to use this, for cancer treatment, as it was shown to be more effective for combat malignant tumors, avoiding damage to harmless cells.

During each cycle of cell division, small portions of the ends of chromosomes are lost in DNA replications.

When the telomere gets too short, continuous replication of DNA could completely remove the telomeres, giving rise to genomic instability resulting in a deterioration of the cell even lead to death.

Scientists have thought that telomere length is a key indicator of cancer risk, we have identified links between telomere length and cancer mortality.

They found a doubling of cancer death with each decrease of telomere length.

This news was thought as a possible cure for patients with heart disease

• The researchers successfully modified stem cells in the laboratory with PIM-1, a Protein That Promotes cell growth and survival growth, rejuvenation Allowing modified by the activity of cells mother, by the enzyme telomerase Achieved Which extends the length of telomeres.

• Stem cells can be used to counteract the aging process of cardiac cells caused by degradation of the telomere.

•Studies in mice and pigs in their cells with lengthening of telomeres leads to new growth of heart tissue can grow in four weeks

It is considered as a viable treatment, make a modification heart cells to regenerate heart muscle has been damaged by causes such as ischemia and that also is overgrown.

Currently, this patient may be offered stem cell therapies with regenerative potential PIM-1 modification is a significant advance for clinical treatment. "

MEDICAL UTILITYFIGHTING CANCER BY INHIBITING

To discover that over time and that our body is constantly regenerating causes shortening of telomeres size, becoming more susceptible to suffer from cancer.

This encourages us some peace when we get older.

MEDICAL UTILITY

With the discovery of this new protein PIM-1 and utility of heart cells modify these cells affected mothers, provide a broad spectrum of life, provided a new alternative for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
