Preliminary Findings:

• 96% find, that road safety is extremely or very important as a public health issue

• 86% personally know someone who has been killed in a road crash

• 95% personally know someone who has been injured in a road crash

• 17% of respondents had lost a spouse, a sibling, a child or a parent due to car crashes. 33% of these had lost a parent in a in a road crash

• 43% of respondents reported that they suffered from depression, hopelessness, anger, nightmares, flashbacks, sleep disturbance panic attacks, and/or poor concentration after a road crash affected them or their loved ones

• 15,4% of respondents reported that they or their children had to abandon school or work as the result of a road crash
