We use the Present Simple when:
We are talking about habits or repeated actions
and situations.
I watch TV everyday
The moon brights in the nights
We talk about permanent situations in
the present.
I live in Mexico City
Lio Messi plays soccer in Spain
We love reggaeton
STOP!!!
How do we use the verbs with thedifferent “kinds” of person?
It’s easy!
• When you are talking about yourself, the verb isused in it’s simple form.
play sleep see eat fly
• If you are talking with someone else (2) or about a group of people (2+), the verb is used in it’s simple
form too.

BUT…!!!
• If you are talking about someone/something
else, you use the verb in it’s simple form and
adding a “s” at the end of this, or “es” if it’s
necessary.
plays sleeps sees eats flies
For headlines, sports commentaries, story telling, directions and instructions. A man arrives to the moon.
Jean shoots and scores a goal!
In this episode, Bob Sponge uses a weird cap.

PRESENT PROGRESSIVE
The Present Progressive is used:
For actions or events happening at or around the
time of speaking.
I’m playing soccer
I’m studying French this semester
For temporary states
Erick is doing his military service
With adverbs of frequency (constantly, always, etc.) for
emphasis or to express annoying habits.
Gaby is always helping the poor people.
Peter is constantly eating junk food.
For planned future actions related to personal
arrangements.
I’m travelling to Canada next year.
For situations which are changing or developing
around the present.
She is becoming more and more
jealous about you.
