About a year ago the wife of my friend Peter began complaining shecouldn't bear it at home with the kids any more, it was driving hercrazy, so Peter told her: "All right then -if you find yourself anemployment that pays enough to keep us all, I'll swap places withyou!" b) Para hablar de una accin que empez en el pasado y puede haber acabado recientemente

c) Para hablar de acciones pasadas que acaban de concluir, cuyos efectos o consecuencias son evidentes

2. PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS

Se forma con el pretrito pluscuamperfecto del verbo to be (had been) + la forma -ing del verbo principal.

Muchas veces equivale a la estructura "llevaba + gerundio".

Se utiliza para subrayar la repeticin o duracin de una accin anterior a otra en el pasado:

She had been studying medicine for four years when he met her. = Ella llevaba cuatro aos estudiandomedicina cuando l la conoci.
