Participles Used as AdjectivesParticiples can also be used as adjectives to describe
nouns. The difference between the present participle and the past participle can make quite a difference in meaning:
The bored man went to sleep during the discussion.The boring man put other people to sleep during thediscussion.
In the first sentence the past participle 'bored' is used tomean that the man himself was bored, in the second sentencethe present participle 'boring' is used to mean that the manwas boring to others.

Present participles are formed by adding –ing to the verb stem.As an adjective, a present participle modifies a noun that affectssomeone or something else. • The new song is interesting. • The new song was interesting.
Past participles are formed by adding –ed, to the verb stem, butsome of the irregular forms may end in –d, –en, –n, or –t. As anadjective, a past participle modifies a noun that is affected bysomeone or something else. • The fans are interested in the new song. • The fans were interested in the new song.

Participles generally come beforethe noun they modify. They mayalso be linked to the subject ofthe sentence by a linking verbsuch as to be or to feel. • The park is a frightening place

Examples :
1a. The boring teacher talked for hours.
1b. The bored students fell asleep.
2a. I read an interesting magazine yesterday.
2b. The magazine receives a lot of support from interested readers.
Present participles are usually active
Past participles are usually passive

My job is interesting.tiring.
The – ing adjective tells you about the job.
You can say :- I’m bored with my job.- I’m interested in my job any more.- I’m always tired when I finish work.The – ed adjective tells you how somebody feels(about the job).
