Even unexpected surprises, such as rotten porch framing, could not slow down Tom Hutchison’s team. Kirsten Gregory provided us all a nourishing lunch and acted as a “runner” to pick up needed supplies from local hardware stores all day long. We completed all of our planned repairs by 5:00 p.m.; the rain held off, and we departed tired but full of gratitude from the homeowner and her son. From my perspective, the partnership with Rebuilding Together has been a wonderful, rewarding experience, and I hope that RRPC will consider it again next year. Respectfully submitted, Scott Duff III Exciting News Missions Speaker, Elmarie Parker, is coming to RRPC! She is the Presbyterian Mission Agency’s re- gional liaison for Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq. The heart of her work is to help deepen and strengthen the relational ties between Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) church partners in her region and Presbyterian constituents in the United States. She has been asked to come speak at River Road Presbyterian Church on the Ministry of the Presbyterian Church in Iraq and Syria. Mark your cal- endars now for Thursday, June 9, at 7:00 p.m.

Nickels for HungerPlease note the Nickels for Hunger offerings are collected on the last Sunday of each month.

From CARITAS“I hate that this is going to be our last night at your church. W e had such a good time here.”That was what one of the CARITAS guests (a mother of 5) said the night before their departure from RRPC. What an incredibly rewarding week! The Mission and Service Ministry would like to thank everyone who donated goods, set up mattresses, cooked and served meals, washed laundry, stayed overnight, and chaperoned the group on shower nights. Our volunteers logged in 486 hours caring for our guests! It was a huge effort, and we pulled it off with ease thanks to your generosity.
