GPA (weighted/non weighted, academic classes), CAHSEE results
• Once you earn a grade in HS, it is always on your HS transcript!

High School Graduation
Requirements
• Pass all required courses (including Algebra 1)• Students must complete a total of 215 credits• Pass the California High School Exit Exam
(CAHSEE)
Honors / AP Courses• The major difference between Honors and AP is all AP
courses have a weighted GPA and are taught at a fast pace rigorous college level. There are Honors classes that give extra points towards GPA.
• There is an AP exam at the end of each AP course.
• Honors and AP Courses (A, B, C) are weighted in 11th and 12th grade; some honors courses are weighted in 9th and 10th.
• Honors is accelerated High school class, AP is college
level class taught at a high school.
• If I’m recommended for honors level classes, do I have to take those classes?
