Task 2: “Identification and Analysis of Success Stories in relation to the Hotels’ Environmental Performance”

● Acquire knowledge and experience on sound environmental

management systems for hotels

● Identify the potential environmental improvement that can be

achieved by applying such systems

● Document the feasibility of application of such systems in Jordan

● Disseminate know-how & experience among the stakeholders

involved in the project

Task 2 – Action 1

Analysis of success stories related to the implementation of EMS – Eco label in hotels in various Euro Med regions

● Identify and visit successfully implemented

systems

● Focus on areas with similar characteristics

with Jordan

● Identify key factors of success, constraints

and problems

● Develop a manual (D5)

Task 2 – Action 2

Evaluation of the alternative environmental schemes used related

to the environmental management/ performance of the hotels

● Select best systems (or characteristics of

systems)

● Evaluate in relation to the characteristics of

the hotels in Jordan

● Determine typical costs and suitability for

application in Jordan

month after scheduled deadline)
