Why preparation?

to ensure that the study is performed in the safest and most accurate manner possible

GIT preparation:

• The stomach must be empty of food, To ensure the best possible image quality.

• stop any medications the patient are taking.

•  we must know any recent illnesses or other medical conditions.

• Be sure if there is any possibility that they are pregnant.

• be sure if he has any allergies, especially to barium or iodinated contrast materials.

• Remove clothes, Jewelry, eye glasses and any metal objects or clothing that might interfere with the x-ray images

• A smooth muscle relaxant (Buscopan or Glucagone). to maintain distension and inhibit peristalsis.
