From My Heart to YoursFrom My Heart to YoursFrom My Heart to YoursFrom My Heart to Yours “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work… Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness while you are enriched in everything for

all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.” 2 Corinthians 9: 6-8, 10 At our last Annual Meeting the messengers unanimously voted to begin taking an annual Associa-tional Offering in honor of Jean and Nellie Osborn, Jean who served for years leading our Associa-tion as Director of Missions and Nellie as his wife. Even after retirement this Godly couple served our Lord and this Association faithfully. May is the month we are calling upon our churches to take up this special offering that will support work that our budget is not able to do at this time. Unless the offerings are not designated to a par-ticular ministry, the offering will be divided equally between the Iowa Partnership Fund, the Medicine Valley Community Ministry Fund, the Summer Missions Ministry Fund, the Grand Oaks Camp Fund, the Sparrow Ministry Fund, the Additional Evangelism Fund, the Emergency Fund and the Mission’s Promotion Fund according to the guidelines adopted by the Associational Administrative Committee. We pray that every one of our churches will participate by taking this offering throughout the month of May. I recently was told that at least 2 other Associations in our state have an Annual Associa-tional Offering and that both have been very productive. Let’s give in such a way that brings glory and Thanksgiving to God and blessings to the Kingdom’ work.

For His Glory—

E.J. Barnes

P.S. Praise the Lord for mothers. Let’s honor them royally this month!

Remember the Canada Mission Trip Team in your prayers as we leave to go to White Dog Reserva-tion May 29th—June 6th!

Let’s not forget those who have gone on before us—especially those who have paid the supreme price for our freedom! Remember the National Day of Prayer on May 7th.!

WMU Associational Meeting and Luncheon

Eight women met representing 4 churches on April 21 for a program and Luncheon. Spirits were high and much enthusiasm was shown by the four ladies that had at-tended the State WMU meeting April 9-10 in Saint Louis. Each person gave a report on something special that they had seen or heard at the meeting. We all felt renewed in spirit for our endeavor to advance mission work in our realm. Prayer requests were taken from the member with a several needs being mentioned: Bev Martin’s son will be doing mission work in Dominican Republic in June, Shelly

Sims will be going to Haiti in June, a “Mission Friends” leader for Trenton 1st Baptist, DOM-BSU and many ill. At Mission Celebration over 233 buckets of love were packed for Africa, thanks to all the area churches that supplied items for the bucket. The Silent Auction Baskets that we made did very well at the meeting. They brought in almost 10% of the total collected. It is always surprising what a little ingenuity and team work can do. World Day of Prayer is May 7. Trenton will be meeting at the courthouse at noon, they are trying to surround the entire building with people. Other areas are also planning events. Paul and Lori Babb will be at our June meeting. Virginia Crumpacker packer gave the devotion on I Corinthians 6:12-20. Not allowing anything to master ourselves except God. The next meeting will be May 19th at 10:30 am at the association office. I Cor. 6:20: “For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” Shelly Sims WMU Director

BSU @ NCMC Four students will be serving as summer missionaries this summer. Maggie Schmidt, April Robb, Gracie Cabral will be serving through the

association, and Jefferdson Jimenez will serve with Sports Crusaders of the Missouri Baptist Convention. Following is an overview of their summer schedule:

Dog Indian Reserve School.

classes.

July 6-10—VBS with Laredo Baptist Church.

July 12-17 VBS with Coon Creek. July 20-25 Rodeo Mission—Lenox, IA with Country

Roads

July 27-31 Children’s Camp, Grand Oaks. “Thank You Trip for Hard” Work—Aug 4-7 Passion Play.

We are praying over the details for a fifth college student, Makayla Moon, to serve with our partnership church plant, County Roads Baptist Church, Lenox, IA with pastor Mitch Green, teaching English as a Second Language, in an effort to reach the Spanish speaking population of Lenox. The population there is about 35-40% Spanish speaking, and Country Roads Baptist is praying for a way to reach this culture. The student will need a place to stay and finances to cover their living expenses. If you know of someone who

would be willing to loan their RV for the summer, it would be parked in the pastor’s back-

yard providing a place for student to sleep and/or you would be willing to donate to the stu-

dent’s weekly living expenses please contact EJ or Diann at 660.654.0785—Lenox, IA.

Jesus last words exhorted us to GO and Make Disciples. This is not an option but a command. Help us equip and finance these students whose hearts are craving to serve HIM. God has given them the heart and physical ability, please pray how you will help make their vision reality.

The Executive Board met on April 20th. Following department reports: Brian Holcomb (Chairman of the Finance/Budget) Committee presented financial statistics of the association. That powerpoint presentation was sent to all pastors and a hard copy is available at the office.

Deryl Niffen reported he will be attending a conference in regards to Cancer Care and would bring back information to the association.

The Administrative Committee recommended that the guidelines presented for spending the funds on the Jean & Nellie Osborn fund be approved. Also recommended that the Nominating Commit-tee form a committee for the 175th celebration of NGR and Seminary Extension (50 years) in 2016. Both motions passed. The Executive Board met in closed session (without the staff) following the meeting in regards to the financial status of the association.
