Japan introduced the modern education system into Korean with one of the most proactive educational traditions in the world A double- edged sword for colonizer and colonized Education not only gets them ahead in the social hierarchy but also awakens them to the ironies of colonial realities Individuals are torn psychologically First, before the colonization depending on scholars, 3,000 schools opened between 1900-1910 for 10 year period before the colonization.
