Section 1- ClassificationsThe Four-to-Six Month Puppy competition shall be for dogs that are four months of age and over but undersix months on the day of the event. Classes will be offered for breeds and varieties and divided into Groupsas described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and the Miscellaneous Class breedsas listed in Chapter 3, Section 23. The Miscellaneous class competition will be the equivalent of Group com-petition and the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show. The FSS com-petition will be the equivalent of Group competition and the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show.

Section 2 – Entry and EligibilityEntry and eligibility requirements include:

• The Four-to-Six Month Puppy event may be offered at licensed or member dog shows at the optionof the show giving club.

• Four-to-Six Month Puppy Competition must be listed in the premium list, entry form and judgingschedule, if offered.

• AKC registration number or an AKC litter number will be required for all entries of an AKC recognizedbreed as listed in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows.

• A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin.

• FSS number or FSS registered litter number will be required for Miscellaneous and FSS breed entries.

• All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol.

• Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must behandled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs orhas belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised orrepresented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited bycurrent assistants and household members of a professional handler.

Entry Fee: $15.00 (including AKC recording fee of $2.00 for each dog. These fees are paid to theAmerican Kennel Club.)Entries will close Wednesday Noon, May 3, 2017 at Superintendent’s office.

AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES - ALL 4 DAYSThe AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibitedby their owners that are not professional handlers.

“DON’T FORGET TO CHECK THE OWNER-HANDLED BOX ON THEENTRY FORM IF ENTERING THIS COMPETITION.”

All dogs that are owner-handled and are not exhibited in the National Owner-Handled Series byprofessional handlers* meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare theirdog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligibledogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward’s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handledthroughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible owner.Professional handlers, household members and current assistants** to professional handlersmay not exhibit the dog in any AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition during theentire show.

Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are competing in the Best ofBreed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes.

The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog compet-ing in the Best of Breed, or in Best of Winners competition.

*Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional han-dlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handlingdogs for pay within the last five years.

**A current assistant is defined by anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, orassisting a professional handler at the show or any during the cluster/weekend.

NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 12 and under 15 years of age on the day of the showwho at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at alicensed or member show.

NOVICE SENIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 15 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show who atthe time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at alicensed or member show.

OPEN JUNIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 9 and under 12 years of age on the day of the show who at thetime entries close, have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competi-tion present in the Novice Class.

OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 12 and under 15 years of age on the day of the showwho at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, withcompetition present in the Novice Class.

OPEN SENIOR CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 15 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show who at thetime entries close, have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competi-tion present in the Novice Class.

MASTER CLASS - For Boys and Girls at least 9 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show and who have wonten (10) Best Junior Handler awards with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibilitydates for the AKC National Championship. All juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the MasterClass and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame forthat year has passed, all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year.

NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry.

WORKING COMMITTEEMEMBERS WILL BE ALLOWED EARLY SETUP WITH PERMISSION OF THE SHOW CHAIRMAN.DOGS MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE SHOW SITE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING BEST IN SHOWJUDGING ON SUNDAY, MAY 21, 2017.ALL BREED RINGS WILL BE IN THE CONVENTION CENTER. OBEDIENCE & RALLY RINGS WILLBE IN THE MULTI-USE BUILDING.• CLEAN UP POLICY - Exhibitors & handlers are responsible for cleaning up after themselves

and their dogs. Scoops & bags are provided.

• All rings are on hard floors with standard matting. Wear appropriate footwear. Keep dogs onmats.

• No baby strollers allowed in buildings.

• SMOKING OR THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON THE PREMISES IS PROHIBITED.

• The Show Committee reserves the right to make any regulations deemed necessary (not inconflict with AKC rules) each day of the shows.

• No space has been provided for unentered dogs at these shows. Unentered dogs or puppiesare not allowed in the buildings.

• Double handling will not be tolerated. Any person who attempts to aid or interfere with anydog during judging will be subject to an Event Committee Hearing.

• The welfare of an exhibitor’s child is the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is expressly under-stood that exhibitors will exercise control & restraint over their children while they are on theshow premises. Failure to do so could result in an Event Committee Hearing being held.

• Public showers are available at no charge in the Coliseum. No dogs allowed.

UNLOADING• 15 minute unloading areas are marked for the Convention Center and Multi-Use Bldg.

Unattended vehicles left in the Unloading and Reserved Parking areas will be towedafter 15 minutes at the owner’s expense.

GROOMING & CRATING• A limited number of open grooming spaces (electricity not guaranteed) are available on a

first come basis. Non-reserved spaces may not be held/roped off. Crates must be stacked.

• Cold water bathing is available.

• Open crating space (no electricity) will be available as marked. No grooming tables allowed.Stack crates. Ringside crating/tables are limited to 20 minutes before ring time; must beremoved immediately after judging.

• The Show Committee reserves the right to stack or rearrange equipment as necessary fromundesignated areas.

• Overnight crating will be permitted in the Convention Center only at the sole responsibilityof the handler. Metal/wire crates with secure latches only. Durango Kennel Club and McGeePark assume no responsibility for theft, loss, or damages.

• Buildings will be locked at 10:00 pm and re-open at 6:00 am.

• NO exercise pens or puppy pens will be allowed in the Convention Center or Multi-Use Bldg.

• The Show Committee reserves the right to remove any animal it determines is in distressfrom a parked vehicle or crate by any means necessary. All persons attending these eventshereby waive any claim for damages against the club, its members or officers for suchremoval.

• AKC recommends using crate ID tags with emergency contact information. Complimentarytags are available at the DKC table in the Covention Center.

This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for this event.A Judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging.The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). Ramps can be used inemergency situation to judge any breed. In an emergency situation an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing theirentry and receiving a refund. The following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp: Lagotto Romagnolo, Clumber Spaniels, EnglishSpringer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cirneco dell’Etna, American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish

The following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets. The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels,Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei and Chow Chows. NEW EXHIBITOR BRIEFING on Saturday. Check Judging Program for time & location.

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordablesingle entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11,Section 2). An AKC Recording Fee of $3.50 1st Entry & $3.00 additional entry of same dog will be required for eachentry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 3) These Fees are paid to the AmericanKennel Club.

CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTERNA-TIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.

There will be no refund for duplicate entries.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging.

Dogs allowed in rings during judging only.

Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendents will be responsible or obligated to furnishany service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holdingup a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.

The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

All trophies must be claimed the day of the show - None will be mailed.

All checks issued as prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Lost, stolen and/or misplaced checks will not bereplaced. Checks are valid for 90 days. The Superintendent is not able to cash checks.

RETURNED CHECKS/DECLINED CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry fee. Fees must be paid in guar-anteed funds. Checks will not be accepted. The Superintendent will add a fee for completing the transaction and/orreprocessing the entries. Repeated occurrences from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASHONLY basis.

Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge orbarred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external par-asites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.

No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire,extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or anyother cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.

The show giving Club, the Show Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc, assume no responsibility for any loss,damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assume no respon-sibility for injury to children.

No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries willnot be accepted without fees, signatures or the “Agreement” on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form.

Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those receivedby telephone are not acceptable.

Refunds of $3.00 & less will not be issued due to the costs of processing.

An administrative fee of $2.00 will be charged for all cancellations or changes made prior to closing of entries.

INSTRUCTIONS1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety you are enter-ing i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color). Beagles (not exceeding 13 in. over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.). The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition; Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which,according to their owner’s records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The show-ing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completedthe requirements for a championship.

3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to des-ignating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has beenacquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement,regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry formwhether transfer application has been mailed to the A.K.C. (For complete rules refer to Chapter 11, Section 3).

5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience and Rally trials should mark Breed as AKC Canine Partners Listed Dog “All-AmericanDog/Mixed Breed.” Variety, Breeder, Sire, Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
