Preliminary Task Evaluation

How effective was the pre-production workflow?

As a group of two my partner Hooria and I did well to collaborate our work and voice our opinions, to create an idea for the task. We planned it thoroughly by using mise-en-scene, storyboard etc.The planning did help us better visualize our task. But since it was our first task it was difficult to keep up , if we had more time we could have thought out more about this task.

What did we use to film our preliminary task?

To film our task we used a Sony camera recorder. But the recorder had issues like lighting problems and could not catch the sound clearly. When we stopped the recorder the sound of the button pressing could be heard as well.

What did I use to edit my task?

We used a Sony Vaio laptop to edit the task with the Sony Vegas Pro 12.0 software. It is very efficient and gives a professional look. It is user friendly and has many tools like transitions, split too, text tool etc; it also had special video effects as well.

Does our task meet its criteria?

In my opinion I think it does since we covered all camera shots/movements, with the framing as well. The camera shots including over the shoulder, Point of view and match on action. But the lighting is not that good and so is the video quality.

Overall, what have you learnt from the process of completing the task ?

Throughout the whole process I have learnt teamwork and how to co-operate with each other and make joint decisions. I have learnt how to practically use the camera techniques, as well how to use the editing software in detail for future purposes as well. I have also learnt how to deal with actors and how each video task must be planned thoroughly before shooting/editing it.
