Having worked alongside franchises for over 20 years we understand the insurance issues and failings of a standard Motor Trade policy compared to our own HiQ policy. We designed a product with higher limits and benefits where these limits are relevant to a HiQ franchise

and not to the motor trade business in general.

So what’s different…

Our policy will cover all the normal stuff like Fire and

Theft, your Employer’s and Public Liability, Servicing cock ups,

your Customer’s Car and your own vehicles including the Road

Risks, insurance for your MOT licence, Goods in Transit, Money

and Legal Expenses but we hate insurers arguing about the

adequacy of your sums insured so our policy automatically

provides high limits as standard.

Engineering Inspection/Breakdown (optional)

Inspection: LOLER regulations (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) requires all lifting equipment to receive regular maintenance and statutory inspection. Similarly, The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 Act makes similar demands on steam or pressure based equipment and appliances. Our arrangements with Axa mean that each location, regardless of the number of items, is covered for a single fee of £310 +VAT.

Specialist Engineers, committed to maintaining the highest quality standards and possessing the technical expertise to handle all types of engineering inspection from lifting platforms, engine hoist, air receivers to fork lift trucks and mobile fitting van equipment.

Breakdown: Protection against breakdown, explosion and damage to the equipment itself. Explosion of pressurised equipment can cause considerable damage throughout a workshop and insurance protection can provide genuine peace of mind. Another key benefit is the provision to cover the hire of replacement equipment to keep your business moving in the event of a loss.

Management Liability –

We can package all 4 heads of cover below under one policy

Directors’ & Officers’ Liability: Cover which offers financial and legal protection to those who

are directors, or employees who make decisions on behalf of the company and are

personally liable to an unlimited extent for those decisions. It is designed to cover the cost

of claims for compensation made against the insured individual (e.g. a health and safety,

libel and slander or manslaughter claim or an employment claim against you as an

individual).

Corporate Liability: Policy cover includes the cost of defence, and in some cases the amount

of awards and damages, as a result of claims and prosecutions made against the company in

a wide range of situations (e.g. breach of trust or duty, neglect/error/omission, breach of

contract & libel and slander).

Employment Practices Liability: Provides coverage to employers against claims made by

employees alleging discrimination (based on sex, race, age or disability, for example),

wrongful termination, harassment and other employment-related issues, such as failure to

promote.

Theft by an employee: Your normal theft policy does not cover this. We’re not talking about the occasional tyre but long-term gradual and sustained theft of physical stock or through bogus account payments or deliberate ‘creative’ book keeping.

Business Travel (including Holidays)

Typical policy covers up to 25 or 50 trips per annum with one person being one trip.

Cover automatically includes cover for directors, their spouses & children when travelling

together for pleasure (up to 31 days)

It has no pre-existing medical conditions, so if your doctor says you are fit to travel this

policy will take you there. Cover is much wider than a typical personal travel policy with very

high limits, no excesses and you can go just

about anywhere in the world (there are always

some exceptions!).

So whether you are on a business conference,

extending a business trip into a holiday or

simply taking your family away this policy

provides the travel cover you need.

Benefits include:

Cyber Liability & Cyber Crime

This is a fast-moving sector of insurance with insurers constantly striving to better

understand and improve their policy covers. With the Data Protection Act due to be

replaced by GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) in 2018, and the ever-present news

items on Cybercrime, extortion and liability mean Cyber insurance is increasingly seen as a

necessity rather than a ‘nice to have’ insurance cover.

The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) has far reaching powers and coupled with both

the exiting and soon to be introduced GDPR legislation where fines are based on turnover

rather than capped to a known value the need for this cover is compelling.

Benefits include:

Group Personal Accident/Illness

Some think this cover is a ‘nice to have’ rather than a necessity but if your best mechanic,

specialist mobile fitter or your only MOT tester is involved in an accident and can’t work for

weeks or even months what will you do?

You may feel morally obliged or be contractually required to pay wages until they are fit.

But the work still needs to be done, whether

through overtime or a temporary replacement.

With this cover you are only paying the wages

once. The insurance can be used to help the

company recruit or train new staff while an

employee recovers from an insured injury, or it

can help pay ongoing wages to an injured

employee.

Dependant on the policy taken out, cover will

apply if an insured employee is injured or killed in an accident, regardless of whether it

happens in the workplace.

Cover operates 24hours a day, 365 days a year anywhere in the world. Typically benefits

looks like this:

Circle Advantage

…is an insurance backed policy which provides cover for the fees of a dedicated Chartered

Loss Adjuster to deal with your property and business interruption claims in excess of

£5,000.

They will be with you within 24 hours of being informed and whether you need them for 10

or 100 hours their professional fees and expertise in adjusting your claim are already paid

for. They will attend meetings to prepare, present, negotiate and administer your claim

with insurers, organising surveyors, builders, temporary premises etc., to see the claim

through to conclusion.
