Project Details

Project –1:Project Title : BI-AMS PROJECTCLIENT : ASSURANT SOLUTIONS (USA)Domain : InsuranceDesignation : Software DeveloperTeam Size : 10Duration : Oct 2012 to till date.

Abstract : The objective of project is maintain data related to warranty business of electronic devices.We handled the BI side of the process(ETL from different sources, to maintain the data warehouse,cubes for the business users and reports for making better business decisions).We handled numerous LOB’s(Line of business) .Each LOB had its own process of ETL extraction and business functionality.

Roles and Responsibilities:-

Creating jobs for scheduling the SSIS packages Getting data from different data sources and Loading these data into data warehouse like sql

server. Using different transformations like excel source, data conversions, lookup, OLEDB command,

derived columns, OLEDB destination, etc. Support, development and enhancement work as per the requirement given by the client. Actively Attended all the knowledge transfer sessions from the clients. Working on High Priority issues, analyzing the failures, giving proper resolution to business. Resolution of tickets (technical failures and user requests), to do analysis and investigate the

root cause of discrepancies in data between source and destination. Start to End status monitoring of ETL jobs and troubleshooting in case of failures.Also notifying

end users with the root cause in case the SLA of ETL jobs is missed. To prepare documents-M145 for enhancement activities, Line of Business wise Understanding

document, test cases document, Knowledge database document for future reference, tracking sheet maintenance.

To give process improvement and performance tuning suggestions to the client and implement them after client’s approval.

To mentor the new comers in the team regarding the process and business functionality of the project.

Attended meeting with client (For Design or Code walk through of the enhancement or development activities).

Involved in Migration Related Activities (From SQL 2008 R2 to SQL 2014),from OWB to SSIS(Visual Studio 2013).It included making of Store Procedures in SQL from oracle code,up gradation and re applying auditing framework of SSIS packages from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2013.

Raising defects (In HP QC) for issues from the source and doing follow ups.Also implementing changes on BI side after the defect resolution if required.

Also worked on maintenance activities like Quarterly patching(to analyze what BI jobs will be affected,coordinating with the respective source contacts and notify the end users accordingly).
