half truths spread by the opponents of oil and gas

development, transportation, and use.

2. To give regular people who support the oil and gas

industry a voice so they can join the national

discussion.

3. To remind the public, media and government that

Canada has some of the highest living standards in

the world because Canadians can consume and

produce affordable energy from its oil and gas

resources.

According to the International Energy Agency,

• The oil and gas industry is Canada’s largest private sector

investor with just over $80 billion dollars spent in upstream

capital investment in 2014, and $54 billion in 2015.

• It represents almost 8% of Canada’s GDP and represents

nearly 20% of the Toronto Stock Exchange.

• The oil and gas industry produces annual government

revenues exceeding $17 billion dollars.
