“ I joined INTI International University as an ‘April Bridger’ for April Bridging programme, and started my very first programme in my university life, which is OLE - INTI’s Orientation Programme.
I was lucky to be selected as the group leader, and was given the opportunity to mingle with seniors & new students as a student helper.
My General Studies (GNS) classes started right after the orientation programme. This subject actually taught me soft skills like time management, problem solving, personal grooming and most importantly, the knowledge in conducting research.
The most important and unforgettable part of GNS subject was definitely the group project where we were tasked to organise an event as a group. INTI Foundation programme is conducted in small classes which allows everyone in the programme to play an important role by contributing ideas, suggestions and solutions when required to. I also had the opportunity to enhance my leadership skill by becoming the Chairperson of INTI Biz Club. During my leadership, we managed to organise a few significant events such as Night Hunting, Couple Run and Career Fair. These events has provided me with the opportunity to work with industry partners like Oppo and Bursa Malaysia which will be an added edge when I start working.
I was also the group leader for a fund-raising project with my project advisor, Mr. Mohd Shahriel. He has constantly provided me with advice and guidance that I will never forget.
Success is earned and not given; we need to keep challenging ourselves to achieve what seems impossible.
Last but not least, the most memorable journey is always filled with challenges. Enjoy your university life. Cheers! ”

“ I have often been asked why I chose INTI International University to further my studies. Instead of choosing universities around Kuala Lumpur, I was willing to travel all the way from Kuala Lumpur to Putra Nilai.
This is simply because INTI provides sufficient facilities for students to focus on their studies.
In 2014, I enrolled at INTI and was offered a scholarship for my Foundation in Business Information Technology programme. I was so thankful that I was selected as one of the scholarship recipients.
Transitioning into university life was a tough journey, but I was fortunate enough as I had lecturers who were lovely and patient and helped me by providing me with guidance and suggestions for us to do well in our assignments and exams.
After I graduated from the Foundation programme, I decided to continue my studies in INTI for Bachelor of Business (Hons) Finance.
To be successful, I believe that choosing the right peers is important as you will be able to study together, discuss assignments and revise together. Being a successful student is not about the grades, but it’s also about the experience you gain during your university life. ”

“ My name is Aminath Thuqa Shareef, and I am from the Maldives.
INTI, with its appealing environment and advantageous learning system, was quick to persuade that this was the perfect university for me. At Foundation level, I had the opportunity to co-create multiple successful events which I am immensely proud of.
A common pattern with every accomplishment is that I always end up acquiring a new set of skills that is not only limited to the syllabus. This means that practical learning gave me a sneak peak to real-life work situations. It gives me the sense that in INTI, not only is my knowledge enriched, but that I am also growing as a person.
The whole learning process triggers a communal bond amongst students and we are constantly encouraged to work together.
The lecturers at INTI are truly amiable, quick to guide and diverse in their teaching styles. Even in a class full of local students, I was assured that I wasn’t any different from the rest. The result was an even more comfortable learning environment.
After completing Foundation in Arts, I am now doing Bachelor of Mass Communication. I realise that everything I learnt in Foundation was a stepping stone. I can easily identify and relate theories, and expand the methods I used in Foundation to complete assignments faster. ”

“ My foundation life in INTI has been a challenging and thrilling one. I like the fact that the lecturers here are helpful and approachable. Besides, there is a lot of interactions between lecturers and students during classes and laboratory practical. INTI offer students a wide range of social activities organized by INTIMA as well as clubs and societies. I was part of the INTIMA Service Cell where I get to meet some of my good friends from local and international countries.
I have learnt to be more responsible and self-dependent. At the same time, I was able to juggle between academic and social activities. In my opinion, life of a university student should not be just about studies but we should not be afraid of taking risks, accept challenges and try out something new every day. ”
LIM tZE MENgStudied Foundation in ScienceCurrently Studying Bachelor of Science (Hons) Physiotherapy
“ My first semester in INTI was very exciting as I had to take up 2 subjects; Self-development Skills and General Studies. One of the component of these subjects was to complete a project. My most unforgettable experience was organizing a fund raising project; “Fun Fair Fiesta”. As a member of the project committee, I went through many challenges in organizing this event. I was able to learn skills I never knew I could such as time management, project planning, negotiation, social-networking as well as leadership. As part of my foundation journey I was also an active committee and member of a few clubs and societies in INTI such as Badminton, Dodgeball, Frisbee and Green Knight Club. My participation in these clubs and societies has groomed me to be a better person; more independent, responsible and accountable. I would like to thank my lecturers in INTI as they are very passionate in educating us. They often give us good advice and guidance throughout my studies in INTI. I am proud to be an INTIAN! ”

“ INTI is the best choice of university because it’s collaboration with internationally-recognised universities. On the first day of class, the lecturer asked us the reason why we choose study at INTI. My answer was “INTI has students from different countries, making it one of the best place to experience different international cultures. As a Foundation student, I enjoyed the programme because it provides us the academic preparation to enter into Science-related courses in INTI.
Other than that, the lecturers at INTI are all experienced and passionate about teaching. Whenever we are facing with any problems, they are ever-ready to lend a helping hand to solve our problems. At INTI, I learnt about problem-solving, decision making and being independent. I also learnt about how to collaborate with others in order to accomplish the tasks. Lastly, INTI has been a great place for me to improve my knowledge and skill with an awesome study environment that is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I would highly recommend INTI to anyone who is looking for university. I do not regret choosing INTI as my preferred university and I am proud to be an INTIAN! ”

“ I have chosen to study Foundation in Science at INTI because the lecturers are very knowledgeable and the classes are always engaging. After finishing my foundation studies, I pursue my dream to study Bachelor of Science (Hons) Physiotherapy at INTI. Studying in INTI is a learning curve for me which has helped me developed a strong extended family bond with all my friends in INTI. The relationship I have created with my lecturers and friends has helped me in many ways, for instance, helped me achieved better academic results, expanded good circle of international friends from other countries. At INTI, they encourage each student to excel in both academic and extra-curriculum. Therefore, being active in sports is another place where I am able to find my passion as well as expand my circle of friends. ”

A MIND IS AtERRIbLEtHINg toLoSE
HEALtHY MIND. HEALtHY boDY.WE’RE HERE to HELP ouR StuDENtS ACHIEvE botH.It’s a fact: college is not a walk in the park. The transition from high school to college is a significant change in one’s lifestyle and being away from friends and family in a new and unfamiliar environment can be daunting. For many students, this transition, while exciting, can be tough to cope with.
According to the Ministry of Health, Malaysia, in 2016 alone, one in five Malaysian students suffered from mental health problems. What’s worse, a prolonged state of mental health issues can result in permanent consequences, including schizophrenia, depression, insomnia and ultimately suicidal thoughts. According to the World Health Organization, suicide was the second leading cause of death among individuals aged between 15-29 years old, with a suicide attempt occurring every three seconds.
AS A StuDENt At INtI, You’RE NEvER ALoNE. WE’RE HERE FoR You.
M- MENtAL(LY)Adjusting to the rigours of college life can be a daunting task. This is on top of potential family, health and relationship problems which may be more than what a student can bear. INTI’s professionally trained team of student counsellors are able to lend a friendly ear and a helping hand through free, professional student counselling in a confident and discreet manner. Students are also exposed to workshops that highlight pressing mental health issues such as recognising and addressing the risks of suicide, identifying depression, ways of combating stress and more.
E - EMotIoNAL(LY)Mental health is but one component to achieving a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle. Emotionally healthy people are able to cope with the challenges that life throws at them and have the ability to establish and maintain healthy social ties with those around them. To avoid feelings of isolation or alienation, INTI assigns a senior student mentor to new students who guide and help them to adjust to academic life. Students can also participate in group counselling sessions to understand the dynamics and nuances of managing relationships and learn to cope with life’s challenges.
To help you adapt to the demands of college life, INTI has developed the MESA PRogRAMME. Developed by INTI’s team of experienced student counsellors through research in established student counselling methodologies, MESA serves as a bedrock for students throughout their journey at INTI, helping students to excel Mentally, Emotionally, Socially and Academically (MESA).
Providing a support group and source for counselling and guidance, MESA helps new and current students to cope with the demands of academic life and provides various platforms for them to develop into well-adjusted, successful individuals in life. Here’s how various aspects of the INTI MESA Programme contribute to the mental health and happiness of our students:
S- SoCIAL(LY)INTI offers robust social programs across all its campuses that engage students in a positive and meaningful way. At INTI there are a rich array of clubs, social networks and activities - many of which are proactively initiated by fellow students - that promote social interaction, aid in improving soft skills and encourage students to contribute to their communities.
A - ACADEMICAL(LY)The demanding pace of higher education requires students to rapidly master a host of technical skills and new ways of learning to succeed. With the integration of the Blackboard Learning Management system into INTI’s first year experience programs, students gain a bird’s eye view of their progress and can easily identify areas for improvement with the help of their lecturers and academic staff. These are also supplemented with regular workshops that help acclimatise students to the rapid pace of learning and usage of the Blackboard system.
MEEt SoME oF INtI’S CouNSELLINg tEAM.WE’RE HERE FoR You.All INTI campuses have accredited and professionally trained counsellors who are available for consultation and counselling services.
With a Master of Counselling from the University of Malaya and a degree in Science and Education (Guidance and Counselling) from University Technology Malaysia, Siow Yen has extensive experience in dealing with students enduring relationship issues, depression, addiction and more.
LIM SIoW YENStudent Counsellor
With M. Edu in Guidance and Counselling from the National University of Malaysia, Ker Shin has a friendly smile and a kind word for everyone she meets and is a familiar face at INTI. She has extensive experience in counselling students on life issues and also conducts regular workshops for personal management and development.
