Pre-Owned VCDs / DVDs / CDs to Clear 1. To make things simple, all items are priced at $5.00 per piece except for sets of two or more discs. The prices are listed below. 2. The original price I paid for these items were anything from $10 per piece. They also sell much more expensively at foreign websites such as
www.plumpub.com or www.chinafrominside.com/. So you can see that the prices are a real bargain. 3. Some of these items below are no longer available in the shops i.e. I’ve not seen them sold in the shops for a long time, so this could be the only place to
get them. 4. If you intend to take a big bulk of these items out of my hands, quote me a price and we can discuss. ☺ 5. That said, all prices are negotiable because I want to clear my cupboard! Email to me to discuss. 6. Delivery charges are not included. Some people may prefer to meet up to collect, others may prefer delivery via post. Let’s discuss. 7. Drop me an email quoting the item numbers and from there we discuss the delivery arrangements. 8. Payment is either in cash or via Paypal. 9. Sorry, I cannot allow anyone to meet up and look through the items. I also cannot allow returns or refunds. These are too time-consuming for me. I am
clearing my stuff, not running a buy-and-sell business. 10. Please email to me at [email protected] for all queries. Have a nice day! Item # Picture Details

single posture, including how and why the hands and feet must be placed in such and such a manner.
V02
Title: Yang Style 85-Postures Taijiquan Author: Li Zheng Format: 6 x VCDs Price: S$20.00 Remarks: This is my favourite of the Yang Style teaching VCDs. Li Zheng’s instruction is clear and he explains briefly
some theories, energies as well as applications of each posture. This gives a good overall view of what Taijiquan is about.
V03

Title: Chen Style (Old Frame) Taijiquan First Routine Author: Chen Zhenglei Format: 4 x VCDs Price: S$20.00 Remarks: Chen Zhenglei remains my favourite Chen stylist. His form displays an inner strength and softness that I do
not see in any other Chen stylists. His instruction is very clear and detailed and this is an excellent reference guide to those who practise the style. All of Chen Zhenglei’s titles here (except the next item) were autographed by him when he was here in September 2006.
V08

V12
Title: Chen Style Taiji Single Sword Author: Chen Zhenglei Format: 2 x VCDs Price: S$10.00 Remarks: Instruction on the Chen Style Taiji Single Sword. This has one of the best sword performances I’ve ever
seen.
V13
Title: Chen Style Taiji Spear Author: Chen Zhenglei Format: 2 x VCDs Price: S$10.00 Remarks: Instruction on the Chen Style Taiji Spear. You have to see it to believe how a person can wield a big spear so
effortlessly but yet with such power.
V14
Title: Chen Style Taiji 13 Pole Author: Chen Zhenglei Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: The pole is a tool and method to increase internal power. Chen Zhenglei’s ability to wield the three-metre
pole is testimony to the power he has developed. This is one of the best instruction on the pole I’ve seen.
V15
Title: Chen Style Xinyi Hunyuan 22-Posture Cannon Fist Author: Feng Zhiqiang Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This is Feng Zhiqiang version of the Chen Style Second Routine. I like the way Feng demonstrates the

inherent power in the soft movements. Very useful alternative to those who prefer a softer but not watered-down version of the Cannon Fist
V16
Title: Chen Style Taiji Applications Fist Method Author: Zhang Lian’en Format: 12 x VCDs Price: S$20.00 Remarks: Zhang Lian’en is from the 19th generation, same as Chen Zhenglei, Chen Xiaowang etc., a disciple of Hong
Junsheng (a disciple of Chen Fake). Vol 1 teaches basic exercises or ji ben gong. Vol 2 teaches the First Routine. Vol 3 teaches the Second Routine Cannon Fist. Vol 4 teaches exercises to improve the eight skills of peng, lu, ji, an, cai, lie, zou and kao, and techniques for winning push hands. Vol 5 teaches the sword and Vol 6 teaches the broadsword. Vols 7 and 8 teach the Cane First and Second Routines. What I like about this series is how Zhang breaks down the postures into mini-steps, making it easier for learners to follow and learn. He also shows applications for every posture from Vols 1-6. I don’t know why there are no applications for the Cane.
V17
Title: Taiji Tuishou (Push Hands) Author: Wang Er-ping Format: 2 x VCDs Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Push Hands instruction by the World Champion ‘Prince of Taiji’. The two discs cover instruction on the
usual single hand, double hand, fixed step and moving step push hands. There are also an introduction to basic 13 Taiji postures and exercises on kao (shoulder) and push legs which I do not see anywhere else. I recommend this for people new to push hands.
V18
Title: Fixed Step Single Push Hands Author: Li Derun Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This is an excellent series of push hands methods as passed down by Yang Jianhou to his disciple Hu
Xingzhai. It has many different methods in push hands to help develop the skills required by good push hands, especially in loosening up the arms, shoulders and waist. Many of these methods are not the usual ones seen in the standard curriculum. I recommend the series to beef up a practitioner’s push hands skills.

Title: Fixed Step Double Push Hands Author: Li Derun Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: As above.
V20
Title: Four Standard Hands Author: Li Derun Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: As above.
V21
Title: Moving Step Push Hands Author: Li Derun Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: As above.
V22
Title: Taiji Push Hands Author: - Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This disc shows some standard push hands training methods like zhan zhuang, stepping, fajin as well as the
standard push hands methods. What is seen here and not seen elsewhere are some moving drills that help in neutralising and issuing energy.
V23
Title: Wu(3) Sect Taijiquan Basic Skill Methods Author: Gao Liancheng Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Wu(3) Sect is also known as the Hao Style. This disc shows the methods used in training the breath, stance,
fajin, stepping etc. Training the basics is key to mastery of any skill. The methods here are useful to all

stylists (not just Hao stylists) especially for practitioners who do not find these in their usual classes.
V24
Title: Wu(3) Sect Taiji Hitting Hands Author: Gao Liancheng Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Hitting Hands is an older name for push hands. This disc teaches the push hands methods of the Hao Style. I
like the way each movment is explained in terms of what kind of energy is used, something missing in many classes, and instructional books and videos.
V25
Title: Wudang Zhaobao Taiji Push Hands Author: Yuan Baoshan Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Yuan Baoshan is a well-known Zhaobao style practitioner and author. Zhaobao push hands is a bit different
from the usual push hands curriculum. This disc explains the push hands methods, some applications and also teaches a simplified 13-posture form.
V26
Title: Zhaobao Taijiquan Author: Wang Haizhou Format: 3 x VCDs Price: S$10.00 Remarks: Wang Haizhou is a well-known practitioner and one of the acknowledged Zhaobao leaders in China.
Zhaobao style has been included into one of the Six Major Styles and the official pictorial representations are based on Wang and the form he teaches here.
V27
Title: Wudang Zhaobao Taijiquan Author: Liu Rui Format: VCD Price: S$10.00 Remarks: This is something not found in the stores outside. It shows Liu Rui demonstrating the traditional 75-posture
Zhaobao form as well as a 39-posture simplified form. Next is a section on Zhaobao style push hands which I personally found very educational in viewing how push hands can be used in applications, and then a short

teaching on the various Zhaobao postures. This is essentially not an instructional disc but is a good reference for those who are already learning, or have the book to learn from and need something visual to refer to. Please note that Liu Rui’s Zhaobao form is different from Wang Haizhou’s. In fact, Zhaobao style has quite a number of different sects and routines.
V28
Title: Xiao Family Internal Gongfu: Taijiquan Series – Little Nine Heavens Author: Xiao Tieseng Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This is a form from the Funei Sect of Yang Style Taijiquan. Yang Luchan supposedly originally had a series
of forms and methods that he kept from the public and taught only to his indoor disciples, hence the name Funei, or ‘Inside the House’. The Funei series is not documented on any book to my knowledge and, again to my knowledge, only two persons have so far only documented the series on VCDs. Xiao Tieseng is one of them, the other being Li Zheng. Little Nine Heavens is a fast form that includes some leaping and explosive movements. It is a good introduction to using Taijiquan as a martial art. Some applications are explained and shown.
V29
Title: Xiao Family Internal Gongfu: Taijiquan Series – After Heavens Method Author: Xiao Tieseng Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Applications are explained and shown. This is a good instruction to Taijiquan as a martial art. This Method is
different from Little Nine Heavens in that Little Nine Heavens is a form whereas After Heavens Method is a series of individual explosive movements that can be linked up to practise together as a single form.
V30
Title: Xiao Family Internal Gongfu: Taijiquan Series – The 13 Basic Postures Author: Xiao Tieseng Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: The 13 Postures are not the usual 13 postures of peng, lu, ji, and an etc. that we know. Instead, each posture
is a series of movements based on a specific animal like the lion, snake, bear, chicken etc. Each posture has a different purpose in training. Eventually, such postures would be combined into the standard long form that we know today. This disc is a good look into what the early postures were like initially. It is also a good method to use for those who may have difficulty in remembering the complete long form or those who face

problems of limited floor space to practise.
V31
Title: Yang Style Taiji 13 Postures Author: Wang Dianzhen Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This is similar to the previous item except that this is from the Yang Jianhou lineage. The animals are the
same but the postures are done differently.
V32
Title: Chen Style Zhan Zhuang Author: Wang Xi-an Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Wang Xi-an is one of the Chen Village Buddhas. This disc is on various zhan zhuang standing postures to
develop qi and internal power.
V33
Title: Taiji Standing and Footwork Exercises Author: Li Zheng Format: 2 x VCDs Price: S$10.00 Remarks: Li Zheng is a well-known teacher and is an inheritor of both the Funei and Yang Chengfu styles. His VCDs
are some of the more ‘worth-buying’ for their respective topics. Here, he teaches zhan zhuang, or pole standing. Most other zhan zhuang VCDs only talk about postures. Here, Li Zheng introduces some mental visualisations that go with the postures. All the postures together form a system of practice. he also teaches some footwork that trains the practitioner on how to walk, a very important skill actually that many fail to appreciate. With prolonged practice, the practitioner will harmonise the internal and external aspects of their art, and increase their internal power. As a side note, I’ve never heard of such methods in Yang Cgenfu style before, so I suspect this could originate form the Funei style. I highly recommend this VCD.

V34
Title: Zhan Zhuang Author: Bo Jiacong Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This is a series of training methods from Yiquan – Intention Boxing. The series covers almost the whole
curriculum of this art that Wang Xiangzhai made famous. Zhan Zhuang shows the various standing postures that form the core and basic foundation of the entire art.
V35
Title: Fa Li (Issuing Energy) Author: Bo Jiacong Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Teaches the methods for issuing energy.
V36
Title: Shi Li (Testing Energy) Author: Bo Jiacong Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Teaches the methods of testing the energy.
V37
Title: Push Hands Author: Bo Jiacong Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Yiquan push hands is different from Taiji push hands. I find this disc excellent in teaching different aspects
of push hands and how to turn it into combat.
V38
Title: Single Exercises Author: Bo Jiacong Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: These are single exercises that supplement the other training methods. Very useful to other styles too.

V40
Title: 28-Posture Mulan Quan (Standard Competition Routine) Author: - Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Instruction on the standard competition routine.
V41
Title: Taiji Explanations of Common Mistakes Author: Zhu Datong Format: 2 x VCDs Price: S$10.00 Remarks: Zhu Datong is a well-known teacher and author who studied under the ‘Beijing Three Greats’ of Wang
Yongquan, Wu Tunan and Yang Yuting. He is one of the rare few who can display skills that resemble what the old stories talk about, something, sadly, that too many other so-called ‘masters’ cannot even come near. So I highly recommend reading or viewing his materials. In this disc, he explains and corrects the many common errors and erroneous ideas practitioners often have.

Title: Dong Style Taijiquan Author: - Format: 4 x VCDs Price: S$20.00 Remarks: I got these four VCDs from Zhonglian Bookstore at Bras Basah. I was told that someone went to Macau to
search for these videos and then burnt them into four VCDs here. The series contains rare footage of Dong Yingjie in Thailand doing his form. There’s also Dong Huling demonstrating the form, push hands and the fast form. Next is Dong Zhenchen in Malaysia demonstrating the form, sword and broadsword. Finally is a montage of push hands. The quality of the first three discs is relatively good i.e. they were transferred from VHS and some of the footage is old. Come on, that was when Dong Yingjie and Dong Huling were still alive! The last push hands disc is however not good. It played for only about 20 minutes because it hung on
-

my player, computer and laptop. Zhonglian Bookstore however insisted the disc was working fine when it tested it. So…
Overall, this is a good collection to have. Although it is not instructional, seasoned practitioners can still pick up valuable tips on training just by looking at the masters’ performances. The push hands demos are especially valuable if you know what to look out for. I’ll also be honest with you that some of the footage can be seen on Youtube, although I have not seen full clips on the discs on Youtube. And, the quality on Youtube is noticeably poorer than those on the discs. Finally, I paid almost $100 for the four discs, but letting it go at $20, so this is quite a bargain for those who want to see the Dong masters in action.

this routine.

Title: Wudang Martial Arts II: Taiji Long Fist Author: Liu Mingshen Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This routine is an ancient form from the Songxi school. It is unlike the usual Taiji routines we know. Has
detailed instruction and very good martial arts applications instruction as well that you don’t usually find in other books or videos. Recommended for those who wish to know how to use Taiji for martial arts.
V47
Title: Secret Wudang Martial Arts – Simplified Taijiquan Author: You Xuande Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This is one of the Wudang styles of Taijiquan. I like the way he explains the postures and some of the mental
attitudes that go with them. Some applications are mentioned along the way although not shown. If you know what you’re looking at, there are also some juicy revelations that are explicitly mentioned.
V48
Title: Wudang Sword Author: Wu Zhiquan Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Instructions on the Wudang Sword. Note this is not the Wudang Taiji Sword but one of the few Wudang
Sword forms from Wudang Mountains’ various sects.
V49
Title: Shaolin Luohan 13 Form Author: Mao Jingguang Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This is one of Shaolin internal martial art training routines made of 13 separate postures that can be practised
singly or together in any order. In both Chinese and English audio.

Title: Clothes-Sticking Capture and Falling Art Author: Gao Xiang and Yin Guojie Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: The English title above is a direct translation, that’s why it sounds so weird. This is an instructional disc on
techniques to seize the opponent and make him fall. It is a unique skill used by the Wudang School. This is a very good introduction to qinna, the art of seizing.
V51
Title: Real Shaolin Gongfu Author: - Format: 2 x VCDs Price: S$10.00 Remarks: This is a mainland Chinese documentary that looks at various Shaolin gongfu. The training methods shown
here are truly incredible. It gives you an idea of what it means to train real gongfu. There are some ‘secrets’ revealed showing how Jet Li trained in his younger days. There is also rare footage of the late Master Hai Deng, a highly esteemed monk whom many considered the last true Shaolin master, and his upside down One-finger Zen! This is a rare collectible!
V52
Title: This is Kungfu Author: - Format: 2 x VCDs Price: S$10.00 Remarks: This is a mainland Chinese documentary that showcases the various external and internal Chinese martial
arts. It is a very good reference guide to those who wish to have an overall idea of what Chinese martial arts is about. It also has some scenes of a younger Jet Li doing his training as well as some valuable scenes of the older Taijiquan masters in their younger days like Feng Zhiqiang and Chen Xiaowang. There has been some other, more recent, documentaries on a similar topic but I feel that this is better because it shows practitioners from an era when people really put in their heart and soul into training.

Title: Chinese Wushu – Yongchun Quan (Wing Chun) Author: Li Weiliang Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Instruction on the first Wing Chun form – Siu Num Tao. Applications are also included. This is not from Yip
Man’s style. I’m not too sure what style this is but the movements and sequence are similar to Yip Man style’s.
V54
Title: Chinese Wushu Author: - Format: 8 x DVDs Price: S$15.00 Remarks: No, I’m not selling this one. I’m simply recommending it. This documentary is an authoritative and thorough
introduction of Chinese martial arts, serving both as a valuable and essential reference for martial arts practitioners. It contains quite substantial information on a lot of Chinese martial art-related things like history, famous figures, sacred places, etc. There is also a huge load of Taijiquan-related information, not on specific styles but on more common issues. You can find this DVD set at many places like Poh Kim, TS video etc.
Erle Montaigue Below are some VHS video tapes from Erle Montaigue’s series of videos. Please go to http://www.taichi- fighting.co.uk/ and look for the respective MTG numbers to find out more info on the videos. Title: 312 Meridian Exercise Method Author: Zhong Yang Television Station Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This is an episode from the TV station’s Health Talks series. Basically the Talks have some experts in the
field who will talk about the topic. This episode is on the 312 Method. It was first created in the 1990s by Professor Zhu Zongxiang, an expert in the meridians and one of the heads of one of Beijing’s top medical universities, I can’t remember which. The “3” refers to the three acupoints of hegu, neiguan, and zusanli. The “1” refers to abdominal breathing, and the “2” refers to any exercise that focuses on the two legs. It is a very simple method that works near-miracles, suitable for both young and old. Since its creation, millions have benefited from it and exercise groups have sprung up all over the world. A well-known American in the health and fitness field (and who has a Chinese wife) sells an ebook on this method for USD97, which I think is a complete rip-off because there’s really nothing complicated to the method, and one page is all there is write up all the instructions.
Anyway, this VCD introduces the theory and demonstrates how to locate and press the acupoints. I highly
recommend this disc. I don’t see it in the shops any more. However, the book is still selling and I keep seeing it in new editions, which means, it’s really popular, otherwise the shop won’t keep bringing in new stocks.

Title: Five Animal Play Author: Yu Dinghai Format: 2 x VCDs Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Hua Tuo’s famous Qigong has been around for literally hundreds of years, testimony to its effectiveness in
helping practitioners achieve good health and healing.
V67
Title: Five Animal Play Author: Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: Teaches the ‘official’ version of Five Animal Play. Right now in the bookshops there is a series of books
teaching China’s most popular qigong exercises like Eight Brocades, Yijinjing etc. They are standardised versions just like China standardised the major Taijiquan styles. This VCD is on the standardised version Five Animal Play.
V68
Title: Dragon Shape Nine Postures Body-Shaping Fist Author: Wu Shijun Format: VCD Price: S$5.00 Remarks: This is an exercise of nine short exercises combining a series of lots of twisting, turning, and low postures
that look like a Chinese dragon’s movements. The exercise is designed to help a person slim down and achieve a ‘devil’s figure’ – a Chinese phrase meaning a slim and shapely figure. Obviously it’s targeted at women, although personally I feel that anyone, men included, who wishes to slim down will benefit from all the twisting and low postures which really, really will give you a good exercise. The “Fist” in the title is a misnomer. The exercises are inspired by Chinese martial arts but there is no combat mentioned anyway, and, unless you’re already familiar with Chinese martial arts, you will have a hard time seeing the applications within the exercises. So take it strictly for the exercise value.

The first video details very useful information, tips and techniques to help throughout pregnancy and final delivery. My wife and I have found this video very helpful. I also find that some of the relaxation techniques are very similar to Taijiquan methods like when sink the shoulders to relax. The author Betty Parsons was involved with the British Royal Family’s pregnancies and childbirth. The second video is a fitness programme to help the pregnant mother keep the body in shape during and after pregnancy.
