Pre-OrdersAccept and manage pre-orders easily.

List of features:Enables Admin tolabel products as available for Pre-Orders;

Allows the following Pre-Order options forproducts: No Pre-Order, Limited or UnlimitedQuantity Pre-Order;

Allows to specify the Product AvailabilityDate to be displayed on the product page;

Displays “Pre-order” button insteadof “Buy Now” on the product page;

Enables customers to place a Pre-Orderand pay for the item in advance;

Easily processes orders that containboth regular purchases and Pre-Orders;

Sends automatic notifications tocustomers who placed Pre-Orders whenthe product status is changed to Available;

Enables Admin to specify a custom stock status;

Adds “Pending Pre-Order” and“Processing Pre-Order” to order statuses;

Enables Admin to easily search for placedPre-Orders with Filtering by Order Status.

1. How to activate the extension

Go to System > Manage AITOC

Modules, check “Advanced

Permissions” and click “Save

module settings” button.

2. How to set product as Pre-Order


Now you can set the product

to be sold as Pre-Order . You

just need to set

Backorders/Pre-Orders

setting to Pre-Orders.

Here you can set custom

stock status note saying that

this product is Pre-Order and

specify the product’s release

date or any other text you

like to be used as Pre-Order

Note.

Starting version 1.2 you can

allow ordering Out-Of-Stock

products as Pre-Order.

3. Pre-Order global settings


Extension Global Settings are

located at System ->

Configuration -> Inventory ->

Pre-Orders

Here you can enable sending

notifications to customer when

pre-order item in the order

placed becomes available

This is a global setting to allow

ordering Out-Of-Stock

products as Pre-Order. This

setting is also available

individually per product.

This allows to restrict adding

both regular and Pre-Order

products to the cart by a

customer. If set to Yes

customer will be notified with

error message if tries to add

both products to cart.


Customer can order this

product like any other regular

products. Default “Add to Cart”

button is replaced with “Pre-

Order” button on product page

only for simple products.

Starting version 1.2 "Add to

Cart" button for Pre-Order

simple products is replaced

with "Pre-Order“.

The notification that a product is

available for Pre-Order is

displayed in the cart along with

Pre-Order Note specified by

Admin.


5. Shipping the order with Pre-Order and regular product

Now you can filter orders by Pre-Order status.

NOTE: If you have orders with Pending/Processing Pre-

Order status and you disable AITOC Pre-Order

extension all orders with abovementioned status will be

reset to Pending/Processing status accordingly.

When product becomes available to be

shipped (marked as “No Backorders” at

Backorders\Preorders dropdown on

Product Edit page – Inventory tab) order

can be shipped as regular order. In case

order contains both Pre-Order and

regular products you can ship them

separately. You can ship the regular

products while pre-order products wait

to become available.
