LOGSTOR was founded approximately forty years ago, and was the first in the world to manufacture pre-insulated district heating pipes. We have conti-nued to develop our pre-insulated pipe technology to include many new areas of application, and today LOGSTOR Marine offers complete pre-insulated pipe systems to the marine industry.

Conditions at sea can be tough and this is reflected in the materials and production methods chosen to fabri-cate the pre-insulated pipe systems. Salt water wave impact, wind, beating rain, heat, cold, and human traf-fic across the pipes make our pipes the ideal solution as they are impervious to the elements.

Pipes insulated by traditional insulation methods, however, will allow for ingress of water into the insu-lation. Very rapidly this results in loss of insulation capacity and corrosion of the carrier pipes - making it necessary to earmark resources for constant main-tenance and eventual replacement of pipe as well as insulation. At LOGSTOR Marine, we exclusively use corrosion-proof material for the outer jacket, and the 100% watertight insulation system ensures that the carrier pipe is well protected and that all the exposed areas of the pipe system are completely corrosion-proof.

and corrode traditionally insulated pipe systems over a short period of time. Choosing corrosion-proof, pre-insulated pipe systems from LOG-STOR Marine can solve this problem.

Our maritime pre-insulated pipe systems are avail-able for new vessels as well as for retrofitting of older vessels. LOGSTOR Marine supplies complete “ready-to-install” pipe systems, tailor made to the specific application.They precisely match the drawings and specifications provided and fulfill the requirements of the shipyard and shipowner. For retrofit projects, LOGSTOR Marine staff can take precise measurements on board the vessel, which will allow for exact pipe fabrication resulting in considerable time saving and minimal field adjustments.

If the vessel is gas-free and the use of open flame is allowed, the pre-insulated pipes can even be installed at sea during voyage, thus minimizing valuable downtime.

Four types of pipe cover the entiretemperature range

Type A pipe with tracerfrom: -2000C to +1400C

The carrier pipe material varies according to themedium to be transported. The jacket pipes arealways made of black high-density polyethylene(HDPE). All pipes are insulated with PUR foam.Type B is fitted with an inner layer of mineralwool to accommodate the high operating temperatures.

In environments where there is a risk of temperatures below the freez-ing point, we supply pipes with a built-in, self-limiting heating cable ora secondary tracer pipe system. The combination of superior insula-

tion and built-in heating capability can provide frost protection downto –40ºC ambient temperature. Tracer pipe or heating cable can alsobe used for maintaining a particular liquid at a desired temperature.
