0.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

M/s Chinmay Chemicals Pvt Ltd is a proposed expansion project located at PlotNo. C1/16, Phase II GIDC Naroda, Ahmedabad in Gujarat State. M/s ChinmayChemicals Pvt Ltd is promoted by Mr. Vinod Agarwal. The promoters plan tomanufacture dyes@ 151.60 MT/Month.

The project falls under category ‘B’, section 5(f) of EIA notification 2006 andamendment thereof. The site is well connected with road and railway with the cityAhmedabad. There is no forest, national park, wildlife sanctuary, eco sensitive areas insurrounding 10 km radius. The project doesn’t fall under CRZ boundaries.

1.0 INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT BACKGROUND INFORMATION1.1 Identification of project and project proponent.M/s. Chinmay Chemicals Pvt Ltd is a proposed expansion project located atPlot No. C1/16, Phase II GIDC Naroda, Ahmedabad in Gujarat State. The totalarea proposed expansion project is 836 m2.

M/s Chinmay Chemicals Pvt Ltd is promoted by Mr. Vinod Agarwal. The promotersplan to manufacture dyes@ 151.60 MT/Month.

1.2 Brief description of nature of the project.The project falls under category ‘B’, section 5(f) of EIA notification September 2006 andamendment December, 2009. Hence Environmental Clearance is applicable to theproposed expansion project.

1.3 Need for the project and its importance to the country and or regionThe demand for products intended to be manufacture is increasing in the country. Theunit will use good faith efforts to employ local people from the nearby villagesdepending upon the availability of skilled & un-skilled man-power surrounding theproject site. In operation phase, the project would require significant work force of non-technical and technical persons. Migration of highly education and skilledexperience will result in increase of literacy in the surrounding villages.

1.4 Demand-Supply GapThe gap between demand and availability of dyes is likely increase over the years. Thegrowing demand and supply gap would require increasing emphasis to be given tothe exploration and production sector. This calls for such projects which can help inbridging the gap. Color adds to the very existence and intrinsic value of human tribe.Synthetic dyes contribute heavily for the use of color. Color has an inherent element ofvalue addition to a wide variety of products like textiles, leather, paper, food products,cosmetics, plastics, paints, inks.

1.5 Imports. Indigenous productionRaw materials purchase from indigenous production. This helps in the economicdevelopment of the country to a great level. Thus, to decrease the dependency onimports, the project can work in a positive manner.

1.6 Export PossibilityYes, there is a export possibility of the Dyes.

1.7 Domestic/export MarketsOur products have good demand in national/international markets.

1.8 Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the projectThe proposed expansion project will give direct employment to local people based onqualification and requirement. In addition to direct employment, indirect employmentshall generate ancillary business to some extent for the local population. In operationphase, the proposed project would require significant work force of non-technical andtechnical persons. Migration of highly education and skilled experience will result inincrease of literacy in the surrounding villages.

3.3 Details o f a l t e r n a t e s i t e s considered and the basis of selecting the proposedsite, particularly the environmental considerations gone into should be highlighted.No alternative site study will be carried out as proposed expansion project will belocated in a well-developed industrial Area of Naroda.•Proximity to Raw Material suppliers.•Site is very well connected by road and railway.• Availability of Power, Water, etc.

3.7 Resource optimization / recycling and reuse envisaged in the project, if any,should be briefly outlined.We shall explore the reuses/recycling of effluent from the expansion project.

3.8 Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and source should begiven. Water Source:

The source of water for the proposed expansion project shall meet through GIDCNaroda. Total water requirement for the proposed expansion project will be 44.90 KLD.The total waste water generations from Industrial shall be 17.75 KLD. 0.80 KLD Domesticeffluents shall be disposed through septic tank & Soakpit. Details of water consumptionand waste water generation are given below.

*Domestic Waste Water will be discharged off to the septic tank / soak pit system.

** The effluent generation from the proposed expansion project shall be 17.75KL/day. The effluent will be segregated as follows:

High Concentrated Effluent: High concentrate process effluent @ 9.40 KL/Day will besent to ETP for Primary treatment and then it will be sent for evaporation at Naroda.

Low Concentrated Effluent: Low concentrated effluent from Washing and Boilereffluent @ 8.35 KL/Day will be sent to ETP for Primary and Tertiary treatment and thenit will be CETP Naroda for further treatment and disposal.

Electricity Requirement:Electricity shall be obtained from UGVCL. Natural Gas will be used as a fuel for Boiler,Hot Air Generator. The total power & fuel requirement for the proposed expansionproject are given below:

3.9 Quantity of wastes to be generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for theirManagement/disposal.

Waste Water generation & Management planThe source of water for the proposed expansion project shall meet through GIDCNaroda. Total water requirement for the proposed expansion project will be 44.90 KLD.0.80 KLD Domestic effluents shall be disposed through septic tank & Soakpit.

Solid & Hazardous waste generation & Management planHazardous waste generated from the process & maintenance. Empty drums and bagsis hand over to authorize vender for further recycle. The Management of Hazardouswaste will be done as per Hazardous Waste Management Rules 2008.

5.5Amenities/FacilitiesProper site services such as First Aid, Canteen and Drinking Water will be provided tothe workers.

6.5 Connectivity (Traffic and Transportation Road/Rail/Metro/Waterways etc)Road and railways are very close to the working site. There is no proposal to make anynew kind of connectivity.

8.0 PROJECT SCHEDULE &COST ESTIMATES

8.1 Likely date of start of construction and likely date of completion (Time schedule forthe project to be given).We shall start construction for expansion activity after getting amendment inenvironmental clearance and amendment in consent to establish. We shall startproduction upon making application for amendment in CCA.

8.2 Estimated Project cost along with analysis in terms of economic viability of theproject.Total Project Cost for proposed expansion project activity is Rs.2.5 crores.

9.0 ANALYSIS OF PROPOSAL (FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS)9.1 Financial and social benefits with special emphasis on the benefit to be localpeople including tribal population, if any, in the area.The project will be prove time by time for beneficial to the people as the companyprogress and expands its activity. By CSR activity company management willcommitted to improve infrastructural facilities for the local people like Educationalfacilities, Medical facilities, and Transportation facilities etc. as well the local peopleespecially tribal population will be taken as employers which will improve the socioeconomic environment of the area.
