(ii) Background and Need of the Project:

Currently there is no facility available for manufacturing high potent oncology at

torrent. To cater new category (Oncology or high potent), new facility is required.

(iii) Industry Overview and Prospects:

Torrent complies with global regulatory norms including that of USFDA, WHO,

cGMP, MHRA and others and has received Health, Safety (ISO-18001-2007),

Environment System( ISO-14001-2004), Quality System Management (ISO 9001-

2008) and Energy Management System (ISO 50001-2011) certifications; adequately

reflecting Torrent’s commitment towards quality and safety. Attainment of such

standards have also opened the key to gaining footholds in regulated, lucrative

markets like the US and EU for Torrent Pharma. Torrent firmly believes that quality cannot be talked into a product, but has to exist

inherently. Its efforts towards realizing world-class manufacturing standards are

reflected in its being awarded the 5 Star rating and Sword of Honor Award by British

Safety Council.

(iv) Imported vs. Indigenous Production:

The products which will be manufactured in said unit will be of international

standards, which will have acceptability in the export as well as domestic market.

(v) Export Possibility

The final output of the API plant will be consumed in further process (Formulation

manufacturing) by torrent.
