Spiritual Communion

Even if one cannot sacramentally

receive the Eucharist, everyone

should be aware of the practice of

making a spiritual communion.

Here is one traditional prayer:

O my Jesus, I believe that You are

in the Blessed Sacrament. I love

you above all things, and I desire

to receive you into my soul. Since I

cannot at this moment receive

you sacramentally, come at least

spiritually into my heart. I em-

brace you as if you were already

there and unite myself wholly to

you. Never permit me to be sepa-

rated from you. Amen

Companions On A Journey

�Companions on a Journey" prayer partnership program will be starting up

soon in our parish. The objective of the program is to match up families

with older couples or individuals to form prayer partnerships. Partnerships

will take their own shape depending on the particular pairings. However,

most encounters would involve connecting with each other on a weekly or

monthly basis to seek out prayer requests and to pray for each

other. Other interactions between the prayer partners may grew

organically over time, such as shared meals, involvement in family

activities, etc... if the partners so wish. The intent of the prayer partnerships

is to serve as a way to build community and to close the generation gap

between young and old in our parish. With current social distancing

recommendations still in place the time is ripe for some meaningful prayer

connections! Families who are interested in signing up to be matched

with a prayer partner, or older individuals or couples who would like to sign

up, can email Tina Russell at ttoth@hotmail.com or call at 307-460-0765.
