First Viewing: Students watch the digital story and answer the following questions A. Who tells the story? What is the problem? What’s the structure of the story? Beginning, middle and end? What happens in each phase of the story? B. Discussion of the plot (the sequenced events of the story). The hook, introduction, rising tension, climax, falling tension or and conclusion. The story plot includes the following steps: The hook: The part of a story that introduces important background information to the audience. It can be conveyed through dialogues, flashbacks, character's thoughts, background details … Introduction/ Background/ Exposition: Information about the setting, events occurring before the main plot, characters' back stories … The Rising Action: The part where a series of events that begin immediately after the hook. These events are generally the most important parts of the story since the entire plot depends on them. The Climax: It is the highest point in the tension of the story. It may also be the turning point, which changes the story’s fate. It’s the moment when solutions are finally looming up to resolve the problems. Falling Action: Things which have gone badly up to this point; now, the plot will begin to unfold in the positive way. It may contain a moment of final suspense, in which the final outcome of the conflict is in doubt. The denouement: It constitutes the back of peace and serenity to the story and it’s the moment when things are getting normal again. C. Exercise: Read the story and highlight each element of the plot with a different colour in the following written story. Everything around me was moving so fast. It was so different; I felt like moving through slow motion. Things were getting tough, and I couldn't keep up. My name is _____________. I am from El jadida, Morocco. And I'm 16 years old. When I was 13 I started suffering from body shame and low self-esteem. I felt uncomfortable in the body I lift him in ashamed of the person I was. People thought that I was doing this for fun, but it wasn't; it was like a way for me to express my own pain. I couldn't eat anymore; I couldn't sleep; I couldn't even breath. I didn't interact with people anymore and prefer to stay by myself and to play all day in my bed.One day, my cousin came to visit my family. He came up to my room and asked me what happened to me and why did I change to become there that stranger. it really impacted me to see that somebody carred and noticed my pain. I realized that this was no way to live and I needed to start believing in myself again. That’s why I finally decided to speak up and ask for help. I asked my family in France for help. And this experience taught me a lot about life and made me realize that what we see in magazines isn't true beauty; true beauty is within yourself after all we won't remember our physical appearance; we remember whether or not we had the courage to stand up to our beliefs and never forget that you're beautiful. 2. PRACTICE TWO: Students watch the digital Story entitled ‘Paying Respect’:

https://youtu.be/RW7Uksus1l8 and fill in the storyboard template (page2) . The written story is as follows:

As a Muslims, we believe that those who died out are alive but we are not aware of them. My name is

Mohammed and I'm 17 years old. I'm from Zagora, a small city in South East of Morocco. I really like

my town because it's beautiful and people are nice. But every day, I walk past a cemetery that was not taken

care of. They were weeds everywhere; and at night, animals get in and just leave a mess. It was disrespectful

to those who died. but then, I had an idea; one Friday after prayers, I asked some friends to help me clean

up cemetery but they teased me and they said that was a stupid idea but not everyone teased me. By Sunday

afternoon, six of us started to clean cemetery pulling weeds and picking up the garbage. My idea was not

stupid. People joined us one by one even those people who said it was stupid. By the time we finished,

over 20 people were helping and even though they didn't seem doing it. My family and my friends respected

me. For me, I just wanted to encourage respect for both the living and dead.
