Sophie is a partner and leads the tax team of KGA Avocats. She specializes in

French and international taxation, corporate taxation, transfer pricing, tax

issues for cross-border mergers and acquisitions and group restructuring,

maritime VAT, real estate taxation, estate planning and employee saving

schemes. She advises clients from all range of industry and has, in particular,

experience in advertising, communication and media activities, in wealth

management and maritime taxation.

She is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), of the Institute

of French tax lawyers and counsels (IACF), of the tax committee of the EACC

(European American Chamber of Commerce) and of the European EPSG

(Estate Planning Skill Group). Sophie also works for the development of

Israeli activities.

She was admitted to the Paris Bar in February 1999 after graduating from the

University of Paris II-Assas (Master of Tax and Corporate Law). She has a

post-graduate professional degree (DESS) in Companies' Taxation from the

University of Paris-Dauphine.

Prior to joining KGA Avocats in January 2017, Sophie Borenstein was a

partner and head of the tax department of the Reed Smith Paris office.

She has worked for Richards Butler since December 2003 (that merged with

Reed Smith in 2007). Before that, Sophie worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers

Legal in their international tax and transfer pricing department and in the tax

department of Andersen. She has also worked in London as tax manager

within the European-African and Asian Tax department of the US media

group "Omnicom".
