QUALITY CONTROL

The production output from the Granite, Marble processing plant are subject to strict quality control by trained staff to satisfy the customers and International standards, Specifications for the different orders.

To ensure good quality of workmanship as stipulated by the Customer/ International Specifications the material and the finishes are checked before and after fixing by experienced and qualified staff.

PROJECT DIVISION

Our Project Division is fully geared up to Install 1. Marble/Granite flooring with design patterns, 2. Marble / Granite cladding by wet fixing, 3. Marble/Granite cladding by dry fixing (with Mechanical anchors), 4. Installation of different types of Stones, 5. Fixing of Marble, Glass Mosaics.

COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN:

We have a CAD centre manned experienced / Trained Engineer / Staff to develop the detailed Shop Drawings required for the different projects and to prepare variety of design patterns depending on customer’s choice and budget.

QUANTITY SURVEY:

Quantity survey section has qualified Engineers to estimate the quantities from drawings/to prepare estimates for the executed by actual site measurements and to monitor the progress with respect to the schedule.

1. Supply and installation of 30mm thick Bianco P Marble saddles.

2. Supply and installation of 20mm thick St. Laurent Marble counter top and wall cladding to the guard room.

3. Supply and installation wall cladding to toilets and ablutions with Bianco P Polished finish Marble .

4. Supply and installation of Reconstituted stone to the VVIP box floor.

5. Supply and installation of 30mm thick Bianco P Polished Marble to the entrance floor , toilet (honed finish) floor, pantry floor etc.

Statement of Compliance

Stone Factory confirms that we will act and comply in full conformity with the contract documents (Specifications & Drawings) and local authority regulations for “NAS ARENA MULTIPURPOSE HALL” project.

Stone Factory also confirms that the installation of the stone works will be done in conformity with the methods specified in stone tile installation schedules as in TCA’S “Handbook for Ceramic tile installation” and comply with parts of the ANS1 A108 series.

Warranty Statement

DRAFT Warranty statement

The agreement contains the limited warranty as per below terms and conditions. Period of Warranty: One year from date of handing over.

In accordance with the general requirements of the contract STONE FACTORY offers warranty for the portion of work supplied and installed or carried out by us against any defects from defective material & workmanship.

We also agree to repair or replace defective material or workmanship during the defects liability period at no additional cost to the client.

This warranty is valid for the period of each scope of work as mentioned in contract with effect from the date of handing over.

This Extended Warranty becomes null and void as a result of failure to comply with the relevant parts of any approved Operation and Maintenance Manual(s) associated with the above Element of the Subcontract Works.

QUALITY CONTROL STATEMENT

Stone Factory is very proud of the final quality of its marble and granite works. To achieve this, everyone in our company is involved and is totally aware of all industry standard practices and is fully committed to produce an excellent final product with on time delivery.

It is our company’s policy to satisfy the customers need by supplying consistent quality, and to maintain professionalism through continuous improvement in procedures, technology and selectivity of material.

In what follows, please find the procedures followed to achieve our policy.

Quality Control PlanStone Factory will study the design intent, specifications, proposed natural stone with its finish, thickness, dimensions and quantities so full awareness of the project and client requirements is totally obtained.

Should Stone Factory team not feel confident with some aspects of the design, they would not hesitate to express their point of view in order to ensure that no wrong decisions are made and the aesthetics, performances, durability and availability of the selected materials are not compromised.

Slab Inspection: Each natural stone slab is controlled upon arrival in our yard for:• Background colour / tonality versus the approved range for that project.• Visible cracks• Sizes• Direction and orientation of blemishes if any.

Slab Control:One Slab of each natural stone block will be finished on the surface as required as required (polished, honed or flamed) for the respective project.

The slab is compared versus the counter samples showing the approved / tonality range.

• If the slab color / tonality is within the approved range all the slabs of that block will be finished on the surface as required.• If the slab / tonality is outside the approved range a quick review of all the slabs would take place before taking a decision on which slabs to continue the finishing process and / or if that block would be acceptable in another finish for other areas of that project.• Each slab would be reviewed during the surface finishing process and any visible natural defect would be carefully recorded.

Cut to size:Each natural stone slab is carefully checked for thickness, color / tonality range and blemishes before being directed to the cut to size operation.

One in every 10 cut to size pieces would be checked for dimensions, squareness or shape and tolerance.

Special Operations:Some pieces may require additional labor items after being cut to size and therefore pieces would be directed to the respective machinery of finishing places.

At least one in 10 pieces would be thoroughly checked for each additional labor items before moving to the next operation.

Packing:• The pieces are packed in wood crates made out of hard wood such as Birch or Maple. The wooden crates are ordered in advance to accommodate the sizes of completed pieces.• Each piece would be thoroughly checked against the approved color / tonality range before packing.• One in 10 pieces would be checked for size, thickness, tolerances. and accuracy of the labor items before packing. Any piece outside the color / tonality range and or / being outside the required sizes and tolerances would be rejected.• The wooden crate would have polystyrene linen in order to prevent the staining of the natural stone from the contact with the wood and in order to prevent the natural stone damage during transportation.• Pieces would be packed with plastic foam spacers in order to avoid scratches or damages during transportation.• All pieces would be covered with a polyethylene sheet before closing the top of the crate in order to avoid the accumulation of dust, dirt, water etc.• Each crate would have a label showing its number and the stone mark packed in it. The label is protected in a plastic bag.

Copies to all concerned will be dispatched and filed. Periodical Inspections are to

cover all aspects of:

• Material Storing

• Material Selection

• Material Fixing at sites

• Tools quality and wear ness factor:

Notes arising from these inspections are to be summarized and copied to all concerned. Actions regarding these notes are to be publicized to department needs and all involved.

A - Material Marble & Granite Marble and granite materials received from abroad that is non - conformant with samples and / or specifications will be thoroughly tested. In case the discrepancy Is tolerable, the consultant shall be contacted and presented with fresh test results for further approval. In case the discrepancy Is high, the material will never be presented. The supplying company will be contacted In both cases and remedy Is requested.

B - Additives Such as bonding agents, grouts...

Independent Inspector:The Client may nominate an independent inspector who will be monitoring the natural stone fabrication and its quality. Stone Factory would give access to the independent inspector to perform his tasks to the extent of his contact.

In case the discrepancy is high, the material will never be presented. The supplying company will be contacted in both cases and remedy is requested.

B – AdditivesSuch as bonding agents, grouts ….Only qualified brands are to be presented to the project.Once the specifications are approved after submittals of samples, technical sheets and test results, only the approved brand will be used, and the supplier notified to substantiate any changes in specification in case of its existence.

C – Labour & MasonshipAll masons, helpers, drivers and those involved are subjected to induction course about the nature of works. Specific details will be explained to the experienced masons. Logistics plan to be set and reciprocating information communication plan as well, to ensure everybody is aware of the jobs.

Any non – conformance of quality of works, safety or delay will be investigated. Once the cause determined, corrective measures will be applied.

CAR (Corrective actions)• Each nonconformance case will be dealt with to ensure it will not recur.

The NCR report will be copied to all concerned reaching the head of the pyramid. The file ill remain active until a corrective action report is done and approved and proved satisfactory.

Site MeetingsInternal site meeting: A regular site meeting headed by the project engineer to receive comments and hear out the obstacles will be made, and in turn to generalize plan of action and the strategy of works. Site Engineers, Foremen are to attend and implement decisions, whether disciplinary, quality or logistic.

Project site meeting: A weekly site meeting held with the project manager and the consultant in which information about the progress of works are reciprocated. Submittals, general conditions and inter communication with other contractors are discussed. Obstacles are highlighted in order to optimize work production.

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

Stone Factory, understanding that the health and safety of its workers, together with the safety of its plant and assets is the corner stone in its pyramid of continuity and success, spares no effort in keeping a keen eye to preserve the health and safety of its employees and securing its assets by thriving to minimize risks by using all possible measures, implementing a firm HSE plan and restoring to any technology induced. On the other hand, employees are to be committed to cooperate and implement the rules and regulations and the HSE plan to full extend.

Stone Factory thrive to create safe and relatively comfortable condition for its workers, and the necessary training to prevent the occurrence of accidents.

Safety Plan.Access and exits are first to be determined. Usage of protective items to be used at all times. Extra necessary safety items to be used for special works, such as dry grinding, sand blasting where the respiratory filters are a must.

Safety SignsSafety signs in 3 languages, and announcements and instruction in strategic points in factory and labor camp.

Fire Extinguishers & Protection• Fire extinguishers and fire alarm buttons are placed in easily accessible points. Regular checkups for condition of fire extinguishers and testing of the alarm is done periodically every 60 days by a specialized private company that supplies, maintain these items, in the presence of the Company’s safety officers, who in turn carry out random inspections and record it.

• Official inspection for safety is done by the Civil defense department of Dubai Municipality is carried on semi- annual basis.

• Our company will make sure that adequate fire precautions are taken.

Dos and Don’ts• The following instructions are either posted on boards or verbally transmitted in all safety meetings.• Do not smoke in factory or site premises.• Do not drink alcoholic drinks.• Do not use drugs.• Do not keep machines connected to electricity after works.• Do not try to connect electrical wires.• Do not leave your toolbox unattended.• Do use your PPE at all times.• Do keep corridors, rooms & facilities clean and accessible at all times.• Do follow instructions and directions of safety officer.• Do report any thing that you feel hazardous.• Do not start a fight.
