• Joint Strategic Needs Assessment describes a process that
identifies current and future health and wellbeing needs in light
of existing services, and informs future service planning taking
into account evidence of effectiveness
• Joint Strategic Needs Assessment identifies “the big picture” in
terms of the health and wellbeing needs and inequalities of a
local population
• Why do a JSNA ?

19 year old Ricky Maiden from
Eccleshall said: “I found out about the
service from my GP having spoken to
him about how unhappy I was with my
weight and my poor eating and exercise
habits, My Health Trainer was very
supportive and motivated me from the
very start, not only have I lost 3 stones
but I have completely changed the way
in which I view food and exercise,
enabling me to maintain my weight loss.
The health trainer service is fantastic
and I would recommend others to take
advantage and make a change for the
better.”
