General Overview and Features
Role-based application
Interacts with other applications such as Cobra, Open Plan, MS Project, and P6

Project Visibility
To make a project visible in PM Compass:1. Select Administration from the Navigation Pane
2. Select Project Visibility
3. Select the magnifying glass next to the search box
4. Select a project from the Search box and click Select5. Check the box to make the project visible6. Click Save

Code Assignments Tab
The Code Assignments tab is used to display project level codes assigned in
Cobra in addition to the default and custom roles assigned to a project

User Defined Data
Although there are a handful of default roles but you can use the User-Defined
Data feature to create additional roles
Administration -> User-Defined Data -> Change Area dropdown to Projects -> Insert ->
Enter Label (Database Column Name will auto-populate) -> Change Data type to User

In order to add a Custom Field to the Workflow form view, you must complete the
following 3 steps:
1. Administration -> User Defined Data -> Area = All Items -> Insert -> Enter Label -
> Select Data Type -> Populate additional fields as needed

2. Administration -> Workflow / Item Type Configuration -> Select the Workflow
you want to add your custom field to -> Fields on Form -> Custom Fields on Item
-> Insert (and select your custom field)

Cost / Schedule Progressing
PM Compass allows you to progress
schedule or cost data and approve the
information before updates are pushed to
the schedule or cost system
Considered to be another workflow but
is unique in that it is not located in the
same section as all the other
workflows

progress updates are made to either
activities or work packages (depending
on whether schedule or cost)

Configuring, Saving, and Sharing Reports
Reports allow a number of customizations such as changing the columns, sorting,
grouping, etc.
The changes are only saved until you exit PM Compass unless the changes are
saved to a new report
These settings can be saved for everyone or users can copy the report so the new
column settings are connected to the new report name
Use the Access Control button on the report grid to share the report with other
users
By default, a saved report is only viewable by the owner; they have to provide
access to others
Shared reports show as global reports

Control Account Plan (CAP) Report
The CAP report is a combination of the Control Account (CA) and Work Package
(WP) columns, with time-phased resources below each CA and WP record
Data is grouped by Control Account, Work Package, and Resource
