Refer to the control boards' features to each operator on www.ppa.com.br. Mind the number of cycles / hour and the gate weight in order to get a proper operation. Opening / closing speed may vary according to the operator ramp time adjustment.

1 – Before installing the operator, check if the gate leaf smoothly slides on the rail, linearly, without bumps or derailments.

2 – We strongly recommend a concrete plinth or an iron structure, about 2 inches high or higher, according to the place, so that one can avoid water accumulation in the tubing, as well as to make the operator free of moisture and objects which can harm the gate sliding.

3 – The rack must never transfer the weight of the leaf gate to the operator external gear. Before fastening the rack on the gate, follow these steps: a) Place a 0,10 inches thickness wedge below the operator; b) Fasten, following all the steps, the rack on the external gear; c) Fasten the rack on the leaf; d) Take the wedge out and observe that there is a small gap between the rack and the external gear across the leaf path. This done, the installation is correct.

4 – Never apply any kind of lubricant between the rack and the external gear.

5 – In order to assure a smooth running, adjust the end-of-course stops.

6 – In order to assure a proper performance of the operator, choose the hybrid end-of-stroke system (on operators with such option).

7 – In order to avoid impact between the leaf and the stops, on operators endowed with encoder (REED DIGITAL PPA), use the synchronous counter and torque control.

8 – When set to digital end-of-stroke system, check and adjust the torque control strength, both on acquiring and opening / closing.

9 – In order to avoid fails on running, the end-of-stroke magnets, fastened on the gate leaf, must stop as close as possible of the operator Reed.

10 – Whatever the end-of-stroke system used on the operator, mind that the mechanical stops are mandatory, since they assure the correct gate sliding path.

11 – In case a Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is used, check its proper performance after an input power source fails, by simulating a power failure before finishing installing the operator.

12 – In order to keep the user safety, properly ground the operator, connecting its ground wire to both the operator and the gate.

NEW MANUAL RELEASE SySTEM!


1 – The actuator length depends on the hinge displacement and the place where the leaf of the gate must be pulled. If the lower part of the gate turns outwards the house, the actuator length must be the same length of the hinge displacement. If the lower part of the gate turns outwards the house, one must add 9,84 inches to the actuator length.

2 – To acquire a proper operator performance, the gate hinge must be located from 3,94 inches up to 5,91 inches below the gate middle.

3 – In order to assure a proper performance of the operator system, the anti-roll bars (stabilizing bars) must be properly connected, avoiding that one side of the gate moves more than the other.

4 – Check the gate balance before installing the operator.

5 – In case you need to install the operator upside down, make sure it is protected from rain, since once you install the operator that way, its water sealing becomes ineffective and water-related damage can occur.

6 – Before starting the acquiring process, make sure the stops are properly fastened to the rail, their screws properly tight, so that the leadscrew is not able to displace them.

7 – Use two gear motors, one on each side of the gate, connected in parallel, in order to install the operator on heavy garage doors or ones which are 157,48 inches long or longer.

8 – When two operators are installed on the same garage door, the end-of-stroke system must be connected to the 'master' operator. The 'slave' operator will follow the 'master' stop spots, waiting for it to get to its stop in low torque, with the proper torque control adjustment.

9 – In order to avoid the leaf hitting a vehicle, a person or any other obstacle, security devices (photocells) must be installed on all garage doors. Such precaution primordial, specially on cases which the operator is set to automatically close after a period of time.

10 – When Infra Red sensors are installed on overhead door openers, mind that its range must comprise the path near the counterweight and the swivelling range.

11 – After the opener installation, its leaf can be slightly inclined when opened, what makes its closing easier. Manually check this before fastening the opening stop.

12 – The deceleration ramp or toque control near the end-of-strokes decrease the speed of the opener, avoiding hard slams between the garage door leaf and the stops.

13 – To increase the security against invasions, we strongly reccomend the installation of a electromagnetic lock on the overhead door. PPA control boards allow the connection of a relay module for using such lock. The installation of this lock directly on the motor output increases the risk of fail and prevents the deceleration ramp applying.

SWING GATE OPENERS


1 – To increase the user security, ground wires are provided with all PPA gate openers. Its use is mandatory.

2 – In order to avoid the leaf hitting a vehicle, a person or any other obstacle, security devices (photocells) must be installed on all gates. Such precaution primordial, specially on cases which the operator is set to automatically close after a period of time.

3 – Mind the operator installation angles. One change on the application quotas may jeopardize the operator performance, causing excessive and early wearing.

4 – The lesser the angle / quota used on the gear motor fastening, the greater the strength required to move the leaf.

5 – PPA JET FLEX swing gate openers which use TRIFLEX control boards are installed with the motors in parallel. The encoder (REED DIGITAL) and the magnet (REED ANALÓGICO) are installed on the leaf which closes last. The delay between the leaves must be mechanically adjusted, increasing the fastening quota of the motor gear where the encoder is located.

6 – When two gear motors are installed in parallel, activate the opener so that it completely opens the gate. By using a TRIFLEX control board, it is possoble to program this mode, avoiding synchronism on the gate closing.

7 – Before installing the operator on the gate, check the needed space to gate swivelling with the opener installed and if the leaves turning points are aligned.

8 – One must install the openers preferably on the middle of the leave of the gate, or on the place where there is mechanical resistance, in order to assure the proper turning and the locking when closed. If the operator is installed on the upper part of the gate, we reccomend the installation of a electromagnetic lock on the lower part of the leaf. This can be done if one wants to increase the security.

9 – Even when the gate opener is installed without a deceleration ramp (NOT RECOMMENDED), the electromagnetic lock must be connected via relay module. By using the relay module, a delay on the motor output is provided, i.e., the lock will be activated i second earlier, so that the unlocking can be assured before the motor starts.
