PowerSchool Parent Directions:

Welcome to PowerSchool! You will need to follow the directions below to setup your access.

Please have your PowerSchool letter from the school handy that lists your ‘access id’ &

‘access password’.

For NEW parents that NEVER created an account at one of the Diocesan schools before:

1. Go to https://eschool.daj.k12.pa.us & you will come to this page.

2. Click on the “Create Account” tab:

3. Type in the information you are being asked for. Create your username & password that you will use to sign on to PowerSchool. Under “Link Students to Account” this is where you will enter the ‘access id’ & ‘access password’ from your letter.

4. Once you have successfully added the student(s) to your account you will be brought back to this screen with a “congratulations message”. Enter the username & password YOU just chosen & created on the previous screen.

5. You can now view grades/attendance/school bulletins. Sign up for grade/attendance/bulletin automatic emails under ‘email notification’.

6. To check phone numbers & emails on file to receive school alerts via phone call, email, or text click on Contact Manager. Notice large blue arrow pointing to what you need to click on.

7. The “messages” tab allows you to playback & view messages previously sent out by your school.

8. The “contacts” tab is where you can see numbers & emails on file for you. You will see which numbers the school has on file for you to receive alerts via call, text, and/or email. You can checkmark or un-checkmark numbers & emails you do or do not want to be contacted by. To “opt in” to text—text “y” to 67587. This will allow you to receive texts from your school. You must opt in to receive texts. You may have already received a text asking you to opt in. If you did at that time you do not need to do the above step again. If you need to add a number or email to your account please contact your school.

STEPS FOR RETURNING PARENTS or PARENTS ALREADY SETUP PREVIOUSLY AT CURRENT SCHOOL OR ANOTHER DIOCESAN SCHOOL:

If you already remember/know your log information from previous years you can go ahead

& log in with that information!!

If you have student(s) that were at a K-8 & are now entering one of the Diocesan High Schools please use the SAME username/password you used at the K-8.

If you have student(s) at a K-8 AND at one of the high schools you can link those students together on ONE account by following the directions below.

Please see attached list of schools who are part of the Diocesan PowerSchool

where students CAN be linked together under ONE account.

1. If you need to add another student(s) to your PowerSchool account then log in to your PowerSchool Account & click on “Account Preferences”. Click on the “Students” tab & add the new student(s) ‘access id’ & ‘access password’ located in the additional letter sent from your school.

2. Once everything saved correctly you will see all the student first names listed on the top left of your screen. You can switch back/forth between students by clicking on their name.

3. If you forgot your username and/or password or you tried to create an account & the system says your ‘email already exists’ then go to the login screen & click the “Forgot Username or Password” link.

4. Fill in the information under either the “Forgot password” tab or “Forgot Username” tab then hit “enter”. You will be emailed further instructions. If you are still having issues please contact your school.

Misc. Information:

To use the mobile device app you will need to enter the district Code: RZZM

You MUST log on to PowerSchool via the web BEFORE the PowerSchool mobile device app will

work

To opt in to school alert texts type “y” to 67587

When receiving a School alert call it may say it is coming from “The Diocese of Altoona-

Johnstown”.
