As a concrete example of what we do, one of the PhD defenses that will take place at the end of October is about how to merge systems that support multiple "similar" processes, like for example if an insurance company has one software system to support claims for car damage and another to support house damages and these two systems are separate, the methods we propose will allow software analysts to accurately specify a software system that can handle both types of incidents. The PhD student in question developed a tool that was used by a group of business analysts at the largest insurance company in Australia (Suncorp).
