The 3rd Annual Alimacani PTA SuperHeroFun Run is coming up on Saturday, March 3, 2018. They are looking for community

volunteers or high school students searching for volunteer hours to help us run one of the best events at Alimacani

Elementary School.

Any students who are considering studying art in college are invited to

join Mr. Hinds after school on Tuesdays in room 314 for a portfolio

development group. This group is for serious art students who would like help putting together a portfolio for

scholarship opportunities and competitions.

Clash of the saints

Congratulations To Freshman Class who won the Clash of the Saints Contest for the month of January.

The Freshman Class completed 3,626 activities

The Sophomore Class completed 1,918 articles.

How about a rematch in March?

Ms. Rowett's students completed 1,111 articles at % or higher for an average of 11.8 articles per student.

Ms. Rawls-Thomas's students completed 1,063 articles at 75% or higher for an average of 6 articles per student.

Prom Dress Code

• Dresses with shear panels are prohibited.

• Dresses with any cutout sections are prohibited.

• Two piece dresses with bare midriff are prohibited.

• Gowns revealing midriffs are prohibited.

• Slits for dresses must stop 1 inch above the knee.

• The hem of any garment must be floor length.

• High low dresses are not permitted.

• Dresses must be at appropriate length. Transparent overlays do not qualify for meeting appropriate hem length.

• Plunging backs or backless dresses are prohibited. Open back dresses are acceptable provided that bodice (top portion of the dress back) meets the middle of the back, where the natural bra line crosses.

Prom is a formal, elegant event that should be

treated with respect and dignity. All attire must be appropriate and in good

taste. If in doubt, see the Mrs. Motley or Ms. Hyman

for approval.

If your attire does not follow the above rules you will not be permitted into

the event under any circumstances. No refunds will be issued if a student is not is allowed into the event due to a dress code

violation.

• Strapless dresses are permitted. The bodice (top portion of the dress front) needs to cover the chest area. If any skin portions of the breasts are displayed, the dress is in violation of the dress code.

• Head coverings, including, but not limited to, caps, hats, bandanas, hair curlers, and/or sunglasses, shall not be worn unless required by a physician or authorized by school personnel, or for religious reasons.

• Tennis shoes and flip-flops are prohibited.

• Jeans, sport pants, or shorts are prohibited.

• Tuxes and suits are appropriate for the occasion.

• Pants must be worn at the waist.

• No canes.

AVID STUDY HALL

Open to ALL Sandalwood Students needing help with English, Math, Science, History, computer access to complete Achieve articles/type essays, and get college or scholarship information!

When: EVERY Tuesday @2pm-3:30pm

Where: Room 140 (The big AVID room)

**Must show up by 2:30**

Bring your Cornell Notes/Book/Other

needed materials. Please sign in when you arrive and an AVID student,

UNF student, Early College Student or a member of National Honor Society will be

waiting to assist you! We have your back!
