cutting machine, Underwater Plasma cutting machine and Multifunctional welding column. The

quality of cutting operations was substantially increased, which result in production of very precise

parts and improved the quality of welding. The welding column increase the welding quality of

serpentines and dramatically decreased the required amount of time

Learning points

• Start of the program was delayed by more than 2 years

• The advance payment was just 20% from the Grant

• Final payments were completed 8-12 months after the final report

• The intention of opening a particular program was not strictly kept

• The funds for schemes that accumulated most interest – Technological modernization and

International Standards were quite insufficient. There were more than 1200 companies applying

while the funding was enough for about 10% of them

Positive points

• Companies were able to gather experience and confidence – institutional capacity and sustainability

• Public administration gathered enough experience and knowledge

• Companies were able to replace considerable part of their equipment with state of the art

machines from EU

• After 2012 the terms for final payments of project were shortened to up to 2 months

• In 2013 the advance payment was increased to 60%

• The tender procedures were simplified.

• The audit for projects of less than 750 000 euro was not required.
