Before you Begin …

• Select a book that you would like to edit

• Scan or take pictures of the pages you would like to incorporate into your slide show

• Ensure the photos are saved in an easily accessible file on your computer

Open a new PowerPoint Presentation. Ensure that all the slides will be blank by clicking

layout and selecting blank

You may now click new slide to add blank slides to your

presentation in accordance with how many pages you plan to edit

To add your book page as a background, right click on the slide

and select format background

Click picture or texture fill

Click file to add the photo or scan of your book page

Click the book page from your selected folder and click open

Now that your book page is your background you may start editing!

Select Insert then click shapes. Choose any shape you would like to

add.

Click and drag your shape to the proper size. Next click the centre of

your new shape and begin typing too add text

To rotate your shape click on the green circle at the top and adjust it

according to your prefence. You may also insert a text box

instead if you want to add in simple text.

Continue to add in shapes and have fun with your choices!

You can enhance your shapes by clicking format, here you can

change the colors and outlines of your shapes

Once your editing is complete click Animations to ensure all

objects are ordered properly

Click the object that will pop up first then choose an animation selection for the object (use the green animation options only)

Once each item has an animation added a miniature number will pop up so you will know the order of each object. You may also click

view slideshow to be sure you have animated objects in the

right order

Saving your completed edit as a PowerPoint Show is especially important if you

plan on sending it home as a take home assignment. This will eliminate any confusion

since the show will start automatically once the file is

opened.
